Will a tuff country 4.5" lift work with SPC uppers?

I know I've asked similar questions on here but...does anyone have or know anyone that has a Tuff country 4.5" lift with the stupid spindle spacer(upper ball joint spacer) on their truck and has SPC's also?
Before I sell these brand new SPC's I'd like to be sure. I talked to tech from both companies, SPC says should work if ball joint is factory/factory size. Called tech for Tuff country and he says he doesn't know diameter but it's a pressed into the upper ball joint spacer/non factory ball joint that they get 1 piece from the manu. Guess that it's a real bitch to get out and people usually just buy a new one when BJ goes bad. Also guessing that this won't work without the BJ spacer thus dropping the lift down 3" and using the new SPC arms. Looking for options if there are any from someone that may have experience with this. Thanks.

I may have brand new uppers to sell if I can't if anyone is interested.

Kinda what everyone thinks but their tech guys say the balljoint is sort of a 1 piece deal and may be different diameter than OEM Ball joint. Kinda why I'm asking if anyone is running this set up. Basically says I'll likely mangle the spacer their BJ sits in if I try to take it out.

I figure if I have to sell them then it'll help pay for a new rack and pinion as mine probably needs replacing before too long lol. I initially bought them to get my alignment as good as I can with the adjustment they offer so my new tires don't get fucked up.

 

Looking at those pictures it will not work with the SPC.

 

I hope someone chimes in that has a different answer lol. I'm gonna say that you're probably correct that it won't work. I'll give it a day or so. If I hear nothing the other direction these babies will be for sale shortly afterwards

 

That lift is just damn scary. If it were me I’d try and replace it before the spindle spacer breaks. Piss poor engineering

Yeah, I know. Seems under engineered for sure. Unfortunately my options are limited at this time. Can't afford to drop money on a new lift that's drop down style. New taller spindles are the quickest solution to bringing it to a "safety" standpoint as far as lift. They are 580 a side from tuff country. ...

 

The tuff country 5 inch lift comes with longer spindles. You could call Tuff country and try to order just new spindles. Tuff Country heavy duty replacement spindles 06 toyota tundra part #55907. Tuff Country also makes uca's

Yeah, spindles are over half as much as a new lift kit that comes with NO stupid ball joint spacers. Doesn't even look like you can use tuff country's UCA's with their own 4.5 if it has the dumb spacer

I would try out this adapter.
It’s made it press fit into the stock spindle so I would think it would press fit into your spacer. The slug is included with the arms too.

 

I’m fairly certain the spindles are the same Tacoma or tundra.
Either way, this says it’s for oversized or aftermarket knuckles.

 

I was in the same situation as the truck i purchased came with the same lift. I replaced the knuckles (Knuckles come with OEM Toyota KOYO bearings) and will say "thank GOD I did". I also installed the ICON 6" 700 lbs. coilovers for the RCD lift with the SPC UCAs. ICON stated that it wouldn't work but pulled the trigger and bought them anyways, once installed lower the coilovers all the way down to correct the cv shaft angle. The new redesign SPC adapter is adjustable, and more than likely will work.

 

Not everything on the internet is true, as a request from people seeking help don't reply if you don't have first hand knowledge. If you look on the comments in that video I posted a comment of the new redesigned adapter, part number, and explained how it works.

So, you had a 4.5 inch tuff country lift, bought the taller spindles that come with the 5 inch lifts they sell, ran into the same problem as dude in the video and had to use the adapter to make the spc upper control arms work?

 

Yes, the SPC UCAs come with the new adjustable adapter. I did not have an issue can post pictures, and or will try to post a video.

Bought the upper control arms and ordered the new adapter plate not knowing that it was already included in the newer generation UCAs.

It’s not a spacer, it’s the mounting plate from the coilover.

 

Angle looks good! Better than mine. So did it make any difference visually from the 4.5 -5 with taller spindles or still sit pretty much level. I may have to go this route. Don't know if I wanna spend what icons cost but I'm sure there's something good that will get me the same result.

Is that piece between the coil over and lower control arm part of coil or something separate?

 

Ooh ok just looked very thick. Great job doing a bracket lift the correct way with longer coilovers!

 

The truck was raised almost 3/4 of an inch, but sits pretty even. I released/lowered the coilover all the way, which is an inch. The ride is better than what I had imagined, and very happy with it. That piece is part of the coilovers.

 

Hey man, bout to pull the trigger on these. It may not matter. Do you remember the part #? There is 58626 and 58627 in the ICON c/os. I believe the only difference is the xxx27 has like an inch more down travel.
