So I bought the ptr6034190 skid plate for my tundra and it has the red inlay letters. I’m getting the skid plate powder coated matte black. Is there anywhere I can order these? They are 3m taped on plus have 3 holes thru the skid plate with little clips. I’m sure the 3m is doing most of the work because the clips are really flimsy. I just don’t understand why they drilled holes to put the letters on because the adhesive should hold them on for a long time. I can try to heat them up and get them off but I feel like they’re just gonna get ruined. Does anyone make these or can I just buy a replacement part?

I don’t have the skid plate already dropped it off at the powder coat place I grabbed this pic from online. The red letters are held on by 3m adhesive and 3 little clips that go through the skid plate and hold it from the back. But like I said idk why they took the time to drill holes through the plate because the adhesive is probably doing 95% of the work. The clips are extremely flimsy plastic.

The holes are probably for alignment to they can assemble them quick and straight.

Just a guess, I dont know what it looks like.

I’m gonna go pick it up off him tomorrow and try to take them off myself. I know I’ll be more careful with it since it’s mine trying to get them off as he wasn’t gonna get around to actually powder coating it until Wednesday.

It’s probably similar to the plastic tabs on the Platinum badges. If you want to be sure they won’t move you can use these after installing to replace the plastic tabs.

Don’t try to apply without the application gun. I tried once and ruined the project. That stuff is small flex cement that could probably support the entire weight of your truck form one little drop.
