ECU chip that can increase power?

Is there any reliable ECU chip that can actually increase the power of the 4.7 with simple installation? If a chip that can increase 5-10 rwhp, then it's pretty good to me.

The rods in the engine would cry for mercy if you ran more that 5psi. And even thats pushing it

 

But think of all the power you could get for the price of headers that might yield like 20hp you could gain like 100hp lol

 

If I were going to run that turbo I’d at least put better rods in. These engines don’t like boost

 

I'll stick with headers and exhaust. I want my tundra to at least double it's current mileage

 

I need to finish the Tacoma first. But the tundra might get a full build. Who knows.




Or a Lexus rcf May replace my Avalon. Time will tell

I'm not looking to boost it, even though I thought about it. I'm not new to forced induction. I had built turbo and supercharger systems for Lexus SC300 SC400, LS400, worked with my friend to put 1UZ heads onto 2UZ block and supercharged it on LS400. The 2UZ of the Tundra is quite simple to play with. However, I currently don't have time to fabricate anything, so I only need some little power added quickly to make towing a little more easy.

There is Unichip which might not do anything as far as I know, and I've had it for years. At least it does probably nothing while naturally aspirated. I do appreciate the kill switch and valet mode.

There is one other I have head of but I really don't think it's worth exploring. If it were it would be popular by now. Tuning software is better for forced induction, N/A just doesn't have much on the table.

I mean....think about it. Truck makers are always fighting for 'power' with every model. If they could get any more power from something as simple as software, they would just so they could advertise the truck having 255 HP instead of 245.

 

Yup. The only place where I have seen otherwise is in turbo applications (petrol or diesel).

Actually, that's not necessarily. The auto factories need to tune their vehicles within a safe range to compromise between power and reliability/safety. If they lean out the fuel and advance a few timing degrees, then they certainly will gain power. I've seen Lexus SC400 V8 gained 10 rwhp with just a tuning from a piggyback ECU. I read about guys in Australia and New Zealand gained power from tuning on their Tundra. However, it's costly. Paying for a piggyback ECU, install O2 sensor simulators, then pay for a tuner to trick the O2 sensors, then tune just to gain 10 hp may not be worth it to me. That's why I need a simple bolt-on chip.

K & N and white paint is good for 20 RWHP.

 

Removing seats, spare tire, a/c compressor, and any other dead weight will make your Tundra more faster.

 

It's possible with limitation.

Let it fly. Lol. I'm already putting on 275/70/17 tires, plus towing a 23 ft cuddy cabin boat with 4 people inside, along with fishing gears, so it still can't fly.

Nice looking truck. You already have the fastest color already. If I was looking for some cheap and easy hp I'd look at freeing up the exhaust some, throwing a dry afe filter or intake on, and maybe getting the fancy 12 hole injectors. Might help you tow a little better.

What bull bar is that?

 

It's just a cheap bull bar from Ebay. It requires the factory tow hooks to be removed. I had to weld the 1/2 rings to the base of the bull bar just in case it needs to be pulled from the front. It's just for look but not functional. Lol.

 

On my 03 I had 4.56s and 33s and it helped a alot. So did load leveling air bags. All stock otherwise. My boat is a 21 foot and weighs quite a bit less I'd imagine. Yours is a tuna cruiser!

EDIT: corrected the gear ratio.

 

I would go 4.88’s instead. The 4.56 is such a small step from the 4.10 or 4.30.
Plus the auto has such a steep 5th gear that the lower gears (4.88’s) still won’t put you at too high of a cruising RPM.

 

I don't know what gearing options available out there, but I'm interested in LSD for off roading.
