I've been reading a lot about different programmers, chips and tuners that increase fuel milage and hp. I'm new to this forum and just recently purchased a 2017 Tundra SR5 with the 5.7L engine. Are there any recommendations or should I stay away from them? One thing would be nice if I could improve the gas milage in this truck.

Check around the performance section (same area I just moved this thread to) there’s some discussion on it

I have been thinking about this exact same thing as well. My 17 TRD gets 12.5 mpg IF im lucky! Does the bullydog help out enough to cover that cost?

Nah. You’re buying it for fun. The mpg gain is a side effect. But depends whom you’re talking to, like it might be the other way around if you were talking to the wife;)

I'm planning to get the Magnuson supercharger with the Bully Dog programmer but Magnuson hasn't finished the programming for the 2020.
I also plan on getting a BAMuffler at some point. I've never messed with a Bully Dog tuner so this may be a dumb question but is there going to be a tune option for a supercharged 5.7l w/ BAMuffler?

Nobody I am aware of is doing tunes on 19-20's yet. Seriously if I was to do it over again now I would wait for OVTune to catch up to your year of truck and simply order the Tuner kit from Magnuson skipping the BD tuner entirely.

OP...OVTune all the way...Yes it cost's a bit more, but the customized tuning/logging and piece of mind knowing your truck is running/shifting not only great but safely also. Once you look at all the additional features the tune offers, you wont give anything else a second look.

If the Billy Dog saves you the 20% in fuel it claims depending on what you're paying for gas it will take a little more than a year to pay for itself. IMHO that's not bad IF it saves you 20%.
