Relentlessly searching for upgrades then the other day I passed a tricked out rig and my brain went haywire. At first I thought it was an exhaust 620AE87F-9295-47FA-A6DF-EADC95F25C72.jpg

I did some searching and ended up with a $100 set of horns with 2 direct drive compressors. I was smiling ear to ear for an hour when I first fired it up. Now it could be one of 3 things. I’m going deaf, these things are already wearing out or I have a mental problem. I want MOOORE! Space up front is a bit tight so mounting another set of 2 would be hard. Many guys like the one above are going for the full $1000-1500 kits but I’m not there yet. Anyone have experience with these things?

Thinking 2 kits in the rear of the truck. 2 facing forward and 2 facing back. My only fear is the reviews on direct drive compressors is poor. Or going with this but I’m having trouble swallowing the price tag.

It would be fun to blast at the idiot at the traffic light so engulfed in their phone they don't move on green but even with my OEM horn drivers get so road raged these days when you honk at them.

I would stay away from these unless you can mount everything but the horns inside the cab. My brother wasted about $2K on two sets that crapped out after about a year each. They won’t last under the truck and backward facing horns just piss off the dude behind you.

Don't be a pu$$y. Mount ALL OF THEM Kenworth style. Right there on top of the cab. Hell. Might even inspire you to run a set of stacks up behind the cab.

I hope I never get to old to have fun. I don’t think truck nuts, stacks or over sized tires on stock wheels will ever happen in my lifetime.

I added 2 train horns with separate compressors. Later did I realize these little things only push 15psi. Horn blasters is 200 psi. The best part is this kit has a 100% duty cycle compressor so I can use it for a lot more then scaring livestock on my farm. 0DDC44DB-0914-4962-9484-60DB552966E6.jpg

What a badass setup. I ended up getting the 100% duty cycle compressor at 200psi.
It was about $200 more than getting their cheaper option. This way I can use it for other tasks outside making people wish they were never dazed texting at a green light.

I’m trying to work out a lithium battery addition somewhere under the truck to power the compressor and inverter so I can directly plug air and steady ac power into the truck at work. 1CAF0D58-863B-4FC6-89A5-689B307EF14B.jpg

I saw a semi setup with airhorns and take down lights pointed at his blind spot once. Would have loved to see it in action.

Spent a few days doing the install. It was a pain keeping things neat and I’m a bit ocd which didn’t help. I did a full speaker upgrade with amp and also added in 2 self powered under seat subs. They went behind the back seats on the double cab. Also rewired my wireless-one air bag setup.

I did a 2 gauge power wire to a distribution block below the passenger seat. From here 8gauge to the wireless one, 10 gauge to each of the self powered subs and 10 gauge to horn blasters train horn. Everything sounds great. Highs, mids, subs but the horn is a little obnoxious. I wanted it to be loud but wasn’t expecting this. On New Year’s Eve the crowd didn’t want me to stop honking it. I did a full 7 second blast which was powerful enough to shake the wireless controller enough that it stuck wide open. I’m going to have to change the controller on the compressor so it shuts off at 100psi instead of 160psi

This is the wireless one on board air compressor. It’s a great kit paired with the air bags. For $400 it would have been nice to come with some rust resistant coating or stainless steel hardware. One month after install.

This is the wiring and amp for the speakers and other accessories. Plug and play setup from taco tunes. I went a little overboard with the wire protector and split loom. B8B07FE6-E102-4ABD-9C3D-7493B1256146.jpg
