I would consider this above. Powerwagon only if you really are set on a Ram.

Is the Tundra in the OP the one that nurse was using to ferry patients back and for during the Camp Creek fire last year? They gave him a new one or whatever.

My buddy's brand new Rebel left him stranded on the interstate two days after he bought it. Allegedly it was a loose sensor.

I do really like the look though.

Cant. Since 2014 the Ram has continuously improved in all aspects and this is undeniable. The rebel is a fantastic truck. Only truck Id consider outside the Tundra.

If you are looking to trade the truck in after 30K miles then definitely get a RAM. If you plan on keeping the truck long term I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole. Electric and Transmissions are complete garbage.

How many Dodge RAMS have hit 1 million miles? There's 2 known Tundras that have.

And thats when you lost your credibility. You just take at look at ZF8hp transmissions and rethink your statement.

My statement is coming from a guy who works for Chrysler and has a Ram as his car. The transmission went out at 23K and he got a power wagon instead. It could 100% be a fluke. He also had electrical issues where it was in the shop several times. And this was a 2018. So, I am good on my statement.

Yes the transmission itself is in very well made cars, but the software used is designed specific to each car. And that tends to be the failure. Parts get worn out faster due to improper programming. But what do I know, I lost all of my credibility.

I looked hard at the Ram but ultimately decided against it as I want to keep this truck for 10 years. I came from a 2012 6.2L F150 which I loved and had Ford put a real truck engine in the 2020 F-150 I may have gone that way. Having owned 2 other tundras over the years, I had confidence that my odds would be good on a new Tundra.

If you park at the back to keep it safe and do a double take when you walk away, then you've bought the right truck.

OP, if you’re still considering a Ram and if you have questions about a Powerwagon, hit me up. Always willing to give some honest opinions. Our household loves Toyotas but we daily drive other brands. We have both had many Toyotas, mostly 4runners and Tacomas, many generations worth. Recently test drove a Platinum Tundra and said nope immediately. Lol.

I work on them (Dodge) and Fords for 26 years and counting ... buy it !
They spent millions to change the name to Ram because Dodge in the long run is a pos compared to Toyota or any other truck brand for that Matter but what do I know.....

the ZF8hp is not made by chrysler, ram, fiat. It is a sole transmission company out of Germany. Not all rams have it. Dodge transmission is crap and ill give you that but if the ram has the knob for transmission select it has the zf and there is no data supporting their lack of reliability.

Man, those Power Wagons sure are freakin' sweet. It even looks like you can get a loaded one for less than a Pro Tundra. If it weren't completely impractical for my needs I'd seriously look at one for my next rig—hopefully Toyota steps up on the next gen.

I came from a 2012 F-150. When I was looking at getting into a new truck my brother was talking up his 2011 Ram. “Get a Ram” he says...”can’t beat the 5.7 Hemi” he says....

Luckily I bought my Tundra because he just replaced his 5.7 Hemi at 95k due to broken lifters and a worn cam shaft. Look up all the problems with the 5.7 Hemi. If your still hell bent on getting a Ram, get the best extended warranty you can find.
