Bed mounted Vertical dual tire carrier, options?

What options do we have out there for a tire carrier as such? (Aside from SDHQ)

I guess I can also be open to alternate solutions,
A vertical setup seems to take the least about if bedspace.

 

Most of us just double stack them in the bed with Mac’s tie down systems or similar. Like this but 2 tires. Keeps center of gravity a little lower, maybe.

 

Thought about that, easy and simple, clean - but I feel that takes up more space than a vertical setup as pictured above would. I guess I'll have to do something math to see if that is actually the case lol

It at least gives me more bed real estate ground wise, may not once you take spacial awareness into account.

I have come across that, my only concern on it is the strength. By no mean am like a lot members, but I do do enjoy my truck offroad and not sure this will hold up as I hope. I get a little roudy.

Another issue I see with that is I would need to either mount front of the bed, single spare then, or near the tailgate on either end which places alot for weight rear axle - which is what I'm trying to avoid.

 

Yeah I feel like those screws that hold th rails in couldn’t take it when doing anything bigger than a bumpy fire road

 

Most local fab shops can also make you one too don’t forget

I actually came across these, local company as well. Only downside, I'm trying not to drill into the bed.
Trying to utilize the bed bolts as tie down points. Also, if I get one made by a local fab guy, maybe extend into the bed rails for some added bedside stability.

Have you found them for less than $500/ea? Little pricey option as well IMO.

Local shops are quoting me about 600 to 800 for similar designs as post 1.

I haven't scoured their site or for deals a ton regarding it, since I'm still working on new tires and wheels and some new UCAs. I'll get to it when I get to it lol. Think I may go this route for my full size spare.

Sounds like you want something very particular. I think you're on the right track talking to a local shop.

 

So, Dave, as I continue to search....I may have come up with an idea, similar but different to yours. Might have gotten some inspiration from you and something I found online. This idea will incorporate, easy to remove, bedside supports/stiffeners as well...hmmm

 

Well back to the drawing board for a vertical lol

Don't like the tires forward, moves too much added weight rear of the axle and I don't want to have to walk over the tires to get into the storage bin.

Yes Sir,

Buddy selling his used one locally, snagged it up from him. Actually really happy with it. The rubbermade box fitting was a concern, fits beautifully! Has all my wheeling gear.

 

Bottle jack will stay, going to make extensions for it for the time being. Similar to what's pictured below.
