I just sold my Tacoma & LS1 project. Now I'm ready to buy my 1st Tundra.

I am hoping to find a dealer that has some good incentives going on right now. Maybe discounted parts with the purchase of a new truck or holiday deals.

Preferably from a dealer that would sell/install a supercharger.

    What I'm looking for:
    2020 Tundra Crewmax Platinum
    White w/ black leather
    Supercharger

Is it common practice for dealers give discounts if you request to have the original wheels removed before it is driven off the lot?

I don't think a dealer will give you a discount/credit if you remove the original wheels.

If you know what you want, I'd just shop all the dealerships within a range you're willing to drive. Do it all over email and the phone. I wasn't expecting a good deal at Bellevue Toyota, but they go for high volume and might be willing to give you what you want. You're in a good position with the end of the year and slower sales. Make them beg for your sale.

The wheel topic was a long shot but figured I'd give it a whirl.

That is good information. I did call Bellevue shortly after you posted they said 'their sister dealer' has what I'm looking for. He also made me aware that there are only 3 of these, with these specs, available in WA.
Now, I see that the dealer in Bellevue & Bremerton have what I'm looking for and we will see what their new incentive package is tomorrow.
Currently they are giving me quotes of $49,275 (Bellevue) & $48,077 (Bremerton; lower tax rate).

Don’t let them charge you higher tax in Bellevue you are only required to pay YOUR local tax rate since you will be registering the truck at your residence. Now if you live in Bellevue and can get away with paying less tax then don’t mention it

Also don’t be afraid to go out if state if you need to. Many of my family members got great deals at Parker Toyota in Coeur d’Alene ID. I know the Rodgers dealerships are pretty fair as well. There is one in Lewiston and one in Hermiston. My uncle got a great deal in a sequoia there. When I bought my truck I talked to probably 30 dealerships before I found the deal I wanted.

I bought mine at Toyota of Portland. Lower price than anyone around in the area. Live in Vancouver.

That is good info as well. My pressure is that my wife is 39 weeks pregnant with a debilitating illness (due to the pregnancy) so I don't have much free time to spend chit chatting with the sales reps.

I was/am a little curious of how that works buying in the Portland area and titling it back in Washington. Do they charge you tax or expect you to self report?

I will definitely give them a call. I can understand negotiating a 'leftover' model but it seems a little more difficult wheeling & dealing on the newest model with a high value trim package. This is only the second new vehicle I have purchased so I'm more used to dealing with private sellers & auctions. Everyone I speak to seems to want to pass on the accountability of why they can't negotiate beyond the current incentives.

They did all the paperwork and included the tax, but got a $300 check back from the dealership because overpaid licensing fees/taxes. You can have them do the sales tax or you can do it yourself at the DMV.

I did my deal 100% over the internet with a dealer that was about 105 miles away in New Hampshire. $5500 discount off $51050 MSRP. I gave a $100 deposit on my truck via credit card. All the paperwork was done and waiting for me when I went to pick up the truck. I was in and out of there in less than 1 hour. Smoooooooth!!!

When you title the truck in WA you will need to provide a bill of sale. You’ll either pay full sales tax here or the difference between our rate and the area you bought it. Since OR has no sales tax, you get the full bill here.

Check out Dick Hannah Toyota in Longview, they had the best price of the 5-7 WA dealerships I checked when I was buying. Lower tax rate (than King County) too!

Dick Hannah had great responsiveness to inquiries a few years ago when we were car shopping. It was just an inventory issue.

Also, I-5 Toyota in Chehalis was a pleasure. Lewis County tax rates are lower as well.

Is it common practice for one dealer to ask to see an offer made by another dealer?
He says it's to match or beat the offer but it seems a little odd. I'd hate to void an offer because I'm sharing the offer with another dealer.

I've narrowed the search down to three dealers, two of which will sell & install the supercharger. The other has confirmed that they dont sell them but will install a supercharger supplied by me at shop cost. However, am I wrong to think that $8,000-8,700 installed is pretty high for a supercharger when I'm already buying a new truck from them?

Dick Hannah is one of the dealers that I'm in contact with.

I never had to share any of the prices I had from any of the other dealerships. I just asked for their best offer and if they were close I kept the dialogue going. I'm guessing the only reason they want to see it is so they can beat it by $10 or something.

No knowledge on the supercharger. But I am curious to get a ride once you get your new truck! Where are you in Washington State?

I only can dream of a SC install but the kit is pushing $6000. I’m sure there are threads here addressing supercharger pricing but your quote doesn’t seem outrageous to me. My friend is a Toyota Tech and I’ll check with him.

Also, since you’re buying new you can usually pull a vehicle from another dealer. Even trucks that are still in transit. I think they call it the pipeline.

Good luck! If you end up driving through Thurston County, pm me. Happy to say hi and see whatever you purchase.

Another thing to consider: if you live a high tax rate (King/Pierce county) but in Washington you pay the rate of the location of the dealership. If you buy in Oregon you pay the tax rate of your residence to get it registered here. Washington State sales tax rate is 6.9% (or there about) King and Pierce add about 3.3% where Thurston adds 2% and some counties don't add anything.

I saved about $900 in sales tax buying out of county. And that just paid for two of my new TRD Pro wheels!!

I would definitely avoid Burien Toyota.

I've bought from Toyota of Bellevue, Magic Toyota and Doxon Toyota. Did a lot of service in Kirkland Toyota as well but I would avoid them.

I like Doxon. My next car will be from them again!

Thanks for all of the input everyone. I'm still reaching out to the recommended dealers but, as it sits, I'm currently working between these two -

    Dick Hannah:
    Lifetime Drivetrian Warranty
    Match or beat any price
Sell & install the supercharger under warranty

    Titus Will Toyota:
    Lifetime Drivetrian Warranty
    Convenience and comparable pricing
Sell & install the supercharger under warranty

We should be committing in the next few days or so but we are weighing low APR & Cash Back incentives to calculate payments.

Regarding the wheel discount, Dick Hannah did say they would discount for the take off but only by $400 and, I didn't clarify this, I think I would lose the TPM sensors.

This is one consideration with Dick Hannah - having a 8.3% vs our 9.3% - but it's a bit of a tough choice for us when weighing the convenience of the lifetime warranty in Tacoma. I am always hoping to save a couple bucks but I don't want to make much more work for myself by doing so.

Dick Hannah's warranty works at any Toyota dealership though from what I recall. I just bought in August.

The only other one that got close for me (besides those same two) was Clary in Yakima (if you want a 3rd player)?

Did you guys read the fine print on that lifetime warranty about coverage and maintenance guidelines? Typical dealer marketing to lure in customers

We made the decision today and are just waiting for the supercharger to be received and installed by the dealer.

After working dealer-to-dealer I got the truck I was looking with the SC installed for $56,000. I did go with Titus-Will Toyota mostly due to the convenience and they matched all of the other quotes. They do offer the lifetime powertrain warranty; I understand it may be gimmicky but there is no closer dealer. I have been there many times and know one if the finance associates personally (didn't affect the deal in any way).

We are in Gig Harbor, near Tacoma.
Is there a group on here that meets up locally?
We could just host a street fair with carnival rides

Not sure. If nothing else we can meet in the middle and grab a beer.

Based on magnuson's website, "550hp & 550lbs-ft at the crank in standard kit form on an unmodified truck". It does not mention MPG.
I plan on starting a build thread once I pick it up and I'll try to update with pictures.

I'm down, olympia is too far away. But it will have to be after we are settled with our newborn.

Oh, my bad. Someone else was asking in Thurston county. Seattle isn't too far either.
