Tire pressure Nitto 275/70/R18

Hi everyone. Just got some Ridge Grappler 275 70 R18 for my Tundra. The place where I got my tires said to run them at 35psi each. I called Nitto and they told me 40psi front and 43psi rear. What's everyone think and what are you running yours at?

I ran between 42-44 front and rear.

 

Well yeah you can run whatever yet I thought in general we're supposed to follow what the door jam says, no? I'll admit sometime going a little over... : ^ )

 

The door jam sticker is for the tire sizes listed on it. I don't recall the 275/70 as a stock size. Most were 255/70 or 275/65's.

You need to do the chalk test

I’m sure someone in YouTube has an explanation

 

At least 40

 

I’ve heard this test is problematic as the forces inflicted upon the tire at speed significantly alter the shape so a rolling chalk test won’t tell you how your tires are contacting/wearing between 35-75 mph where most driving occurs.

 

I run 37 all the way around with zero issues

 

Same tire and size I run 38.

 

Thanks everyone. I'm going to start with 35 psi all around and see where that goes.

 

I have 275/65R18 and running 40 psi - that's what the tire shop recommended and seems fine with no signs uneven wear

 

Terra Grappler G2's for me. I've run them at 43sh, 44sh. Have worked great and worn evenly.
