I removed my rear seats to install sound deadening behind the seat in my crewmax
But 1 of the bolts would not go back in and stripped its thread and so I need to rethread the bolt hole for the seat and need a new bolt. Any one know what the bolt size is?

    Thank you!

See if you can pick up a complete tap and die kit. They usually come with thread pitch gauges. They aren't that cheap, but will last you forever if you get a good one, and usually offer lifetime warranty if they snap or dull. They've gotten me out of a jam/ hardware store run many times.

I’ve read before that one of those bolts is random and a different size than the rest of them. Some folks have had some serious fun trying to get it back in there. Almost as if it doesn’t lineup anymore and the captured nut welded on below is off or something.

there is something wrong with the thread for sure. Taking the bolt out was hard. As if someone forced it in there.

The head of the bolt is 17mm
The threat is over m12x1.50 because I rethreaded the hole and bolt with a kit. But largest I had was m12x1.75 but gone with a 1.50 So not sure what the actual thread size is.
But for sure it is not 10x1.25 not even close.

got a thread kit from Amazon and it worked great
took me 30 minutes to apply new thread on the bolt and the hole. Seat is safe once again.

Ah that sucks. Yeah didn't mean to be misleading, that's why I put a question mark at the end.

So you just chased the threads, or repaired them with new threads?

Oh I did not mean to blame you. Just giving feed back about findings. I forced the new thread over the current. I know it should have been drilled out and new bolt used. But since it is only 1 bolt I forced the thread over the old one and in the hole.
    Worked :)
