Was wondering if dealers install the add ons like steps, bed liners, and all weather liners? And if so they just update the window stickers themselves?

Yup. They will put a junk lift in, cheap wheels, and tack 7k on the price.

It is kind of shady. They make it look like part of the real window sticker, but it's just something they attach to it showing their ridiculously-marked-up add-ons.

    Here is proof.

I saw this on the showroom floor a few years ago when getting the oil changed in my 2014.
It is basically a 2016 4X4 TSS SR5 with a cheap 3/1 spacer lift, TRD Pro grille, bigger tires, BS black badges, a winch, LED fogs, and aftermarket bumpers.
    Total cost, $15K.....

If one is getting the dealer to add on stuff you can't afford to pay cash for after the sale, and then paying those items for 5 to 7 years (+ interest), you can't afford it.

I had both dealers I was dealing with when I bought the Tundra subtract their add ons when possible. Even pin striping. When i bought my first Tacoma i requested one with minimal port added crap.

Just because the bank says you can afford the payment doesn't mean it's a good financial move to buy the: house, vehicle, camper, boat, etc. in the long run.

Years ago, there was an SSR sitting on a dealer's showroom floor. It was priced about $9K above retail, with the $9k shown as ADP. A friend worked in the parts department, so being young and dumb, I asked him what ADP was. He just about spurted out the coffee he was drinking and said: "Additional Dealer Profit". I've never forgotten that.

But it's always the most intelligent financial move to buy the motorcycle. You can never have too many motorcycles.

Because they get such great fuel economy in comparison to the truck of course motorcycles are the fiscally responsible thing to do! (even if the math works out that they don't payoff in fuel savings.....add in gear, mods, insurance, tickets lol)

They roll it into another area where contractors finish up the mods. Those things don't work on an assembly line.

I will say they had 2 trucks the I liked. One had a ton of add ons and they other one did not, before I get the one will all the great stuff on it I went home and priced it my self. With me getting the parts and paying someone to put the items on I was still 2800 buck cheaper. Also they sale lifted trucks and add a 2000 more dollars just for the kit and 1200 to get it put on. Tires and rims 4800. So I reached out to a shop and the lift was 1200 bucks labor was 825 tires and rims was 2900 bucks.
