Don't think bypass kits only work if the faults aren't active in the ECM? Meaning the bypass kit needs to be installed before an issues arises. I could very well be wrong, but somehow I thought that's was I heard.

Nah, you just need to install the bypass, clear the codes (with scanner, etc or even unhook the battery for 30mins-1hr) and you're good to go.

At least, that's what I did for my P02440

Ok, just wanted to get some input before ordering the bypass, really not looking forward to pulling the intake to remove all the SAIS shenanigans haha

I have an 08 CM that I put the Hewitt kit on after my ais valve was stuck. The kit worked great. Immediately got out of limp mode. I do still have some flashing lights on, ABS, VSC, and slip control. Other than that my truck works fine. I'd get it if you need it. Only if you're out of warranty.

To me it was worth it. Toyota wanted over 2k to fix it cuz it was out of warranty. I bought it for 160 something and had my power back in no time flat. There are other things I'm dealing with now but, im still happy with my tundra.

It might help the TC. do a zero point and see what codes you get after

So i just came across another company that makes the bypass kits as well, RuTech, prices seem to be much cheaper but haven't made it through any reviews yet

I went for the Hewitt plug and play option and it worked perfectly. $190 to never have to worry about that crap again is well worth the dough. Install took me 40 minutes including the blocking plates on the tubes. Make sure you hook it up to the right post on the starter relay or it will set codes again on the first cold start. Get a code reader and delete the codes before install.
