Much better start today. About to have a second cup. Got a new install project yesterday but all but 2 of my techs are committed until the end of year. So today I need to do some hiring. Not an easy thing to do these days.

 

23 on the back porch and mostly clear. I lucked out with the snow. Only got 2-3". 30 miles north got a foot! Good place for it.

I hear ya. Hiring is a major pain in the ass. If I get a hundred applicants, I’m lucky if there are 2-3 worth interviewing. I’ve just about completely turned that over to my assistant managers.

No Masters, and only a partial scholarship, but my oldest graduates college this year. She’s going to be a teacher, so no telling where she’ll end up. Hopefully not too far. There’s also a boyfriend that’s been around over a year now, and engagement seems eminent......

the additional 4-6 inches predicted overnight turned into a foot of snow, feels like I never plowed.

at least they are throwing us some OT to finish up today. Gotta pay for those Xmas gifts.

I'd be happy to have 15 applications to choose from. It's a high travel job and most people don't want to hit the road for a month regardless of what you pay them. We had some luck with second chance programs and got a few good guys that really wanted a new start.

 

It is, and I’m super proud. My younger daughter just started college for the same thing. I just miss them. Not to mention I miss the red Tundra also.

 

We usually get a ton of applications. Since it’s all done online, we get a lot from people just filling out apps to satisfy unemployment. The few that look promising tend to get eliminated once I check their social media.
