Leveling in front and air bag rear?

Shortly down the line I’ll be pulling a toy hauler (25-28’) and i’d like to level the front 2” or so (enough for some beefier AT tires without cutting etc) and add some bags in the rear.

Who’s done this and how do you like it?

I love my airbagsbut I also lifted rear w coachbuilder shackle. I got the airbags you can run at 0psi and run them empty when not towing.

 

Yea Balboa I have the same truck. Just took three short trips with my 28'TT to the Dez. It rides great but it's not perfectly level from from to back. I also have a high quality weight dist. hitch which I know helps. Have heard great things about the Firestone bags and I think I'm leaning in that direction. Not sure about the front end being raised.

 

which bags are you running? when they are at 0psi, effect ride at all?

 

I’m running the airlift 5000 bags with internal jounce bumper. When I hit large bumps the rear feels more stiff but 95 percent of the time they don’t affect the ride.

 

Still happy with these? I’m now looking into airbags for towing my travel trailer.

 

I installed airbags last week after months and months of researching on whether the leaf spring needs to be replaced or not.

Long story short they are awesome for the short distance ride that I took.

 

I have a first Gen, which I’m not sure really applies, but I have airbags and a leveling kit. Mine are Firestone bags which require air in the at all times to keep from damaging. With 5 psi in them truck sits level. I run them with about 50 pounds in them (for random loads and so I don’t have to top them off very often) and the road is somewhat harsh. With no air in them the ride is butter smooth but I don’t want to damage the bags so I deal with it. With 50 pounds in the bags truck has a little rake. With 50 pounds and a decent trailer hitches truck sits level and looks perfect.

 

Yes. I installed the daystar cradles and the ride improved pretty drastically. They are still going strong. I like them.

 

@Tundyfundy can you tell me which cradles you ordered or link. I noticed there are different diameters, possibly getting the same air bags as yours..
