JD, Jameson and Makers are always in my cabinet. Always.

Then I buy random different things that catch my fancy. Currently I'm drinking this and I think its pretty damn good neat.

    Working on it!
Worked in LEX for about 7 years...loved the Woodford Distillery. I like their bourbon - good hints of vanilla and oak in there.

My go-to’s are Makers 46, Blantons, and Woodford double oaked. Always neat - some of my others I’ll do an old fashioned.

That screwball peanut butter and some of the flavored Crown’s aren’t too bad. If we’re talking tequila, gimme some anejo Codigo.

I snagged a bottle of Wellers SR and I think it’ll be my daily drinker...very smooth. I’ve been drinking Four Roses Single Barrel but it’s $50 a bottle here while Wellers is $30. I also tried regular Makers and I’m not a fan at all. Maybe Makers 46 is better?

Anyone know anything about this Cutty 12?

One of my grandmothers gave it to me, I believe it to have belonged to my grandfather before he passed.

Everything I could find online says probably bottled in the 70’s or 80’s.

My favorite and this took work to decide is Makers

However in no particular order I will always take some of the following. And I keep trying new brands.

    Jameson Black Barrel
    Buffalo Trace
    Angels Envy

Haven’t tried it yet, only about 1/5th of the bottle left when I received it so plan to save for a special occasion, especially if I can get verification that it is as old as I think it is because that would mean my grandfather bought it before he passed nearly 15 years ago (believe that to be the case anyway as it was in my grandmothers old liquor cabinet and she hates scotch). If it was actually bottled in the 70’s and is a 12 year than that would make this a 50-60+ year old scotch.

Haha, sure did! The place I did most of my shopping at had multiples of them too. Now if I could only find some Blanton’s. That stuff is almost impossible to get here in Iowa.

Well, as you know, it's a limited run. And most places, in fact every place that I've checked, is out. The fourth iteration of the Noble Collection came out this past summer.
I have a bottle of the original Noble Collection Blender's Mash that is actually labeled Bourbon Mash. It was Bourbon Mash originally. Then it was changed to Blender's Mash because we all know Bourbon "can't be made in Canada". It's tucked away to ether drink when I retire or sell to the highest bidder at some point in time.
Some of the out of production limited Crown stuff goes for a pretty penny such as the XR red bag Waterloo Crown. It's over $1k now.

That’s interesting to know. I’ll have to keep an eye out for some of the more rare ones. Not that I’d ever pay $1K a bottle for it but if I happen to stumble upon any earlier stuff, I’ll be sure to snag some up. I try to stop at any decent liquor store I come across or research them when I travel and plan my route accordingly. Wife gets a little annoyed when I keep stopping at different ones but what can I say, I love whisky :)

Great thread! I've always been a Knob / Bookers / Woodford kind of guy. Tried some Mitchner's recently too. Good stuff.

A coworker that I hired over 15 years ago sends me a bottle of Bookers every year for Christmas. This year he upped his game with something I haven't seen before.

Anyone tried this Little Book yet?
