Must be climate differences with regard to the slide in bed liners. Snow and water often gets trapped under the liner and sits there. Plastic bed liners almost never pop up on for sale sites as people rip them out and throw them away. Most new trucks here aren't even sold with then from what I've seen.

Interesting that you don't like Linex. All the trucks I have experiences with that use Linex still look new. Most are heavily used in the oil and gas industry too. Linex is a fantastic product in my experience. My truck came with Armorthane and I'm unimpressed. If it was cost effective, I'd strip it out and have Linex sprayed in.

    Project Zzzzzztttt!!! Coming soon.

Fun fact: Rear door bezels will fit in the front a bit funkily. Fronts don’t fit in back doors nicely at all.

#1 Reason I like the plastic is the dent/ding protection. The amount of various bed hauling done with this truck and the condition of the bed speaks for itself. Without it, she’d be beat up.

Now if she was a grocery princess and I wanted to blow $600, then Line-X would be a good call.

Just my opinion on how my truck is used. Not knocking anyones Line-X job.

Fair enough. I've dropped 100lb+ valves and steel parts on Linex with nary a mark. Maybe we use a different compound up here. LOL

Anyway, slide in liner or not your truck looks great.

Thank you. And yours looks great, as well. Glad you did the paint restoration back in spring and hope you got a wax coat on before the winter set in. I think the twice yearly waxing is why my paint still looks good compared to others around here.

Thanks! I didnt get a wax coat on this fall. 60 hour work weeks tanked that idea. I'll be doing an IronX and wax treatment in spring though.

Got the 5100’s on and about to get the 285’s mounted. Top notch front and 1” rear, rides so nice and sits perfectly level. It’s sporty feeling versus the squishy feel.

Depends on how heavy and more importantly, how it's loaded as to whether or not it dings your bed.

I have the thick rubber liner and have some dings. Can't imagine that thin plastic doing better than the thick rubber but also have tossed some heavy stuff without care back there.

Either way, I plan to line-x since some paint is missing and want to just coat the bed.

I also plan to put a decked storage system and they recommend line x first.

Another episode of good news, good news, because bad news, and more bad news.
Good- I got the ecgs bushing ordered.
Good- I am pretty sure at least the needle bearing is the issue.
Because (bad news)- the driver's side CV has a lot of play and is leaking.
More bad- I paid for the slow boat and the bushing should be here next week.

Even with a relatively small issue, I found a way to screw it up royally.

How often does everyone feel it's necessary to do the front diff and transfer case fluids?
How are you gonna pull off a Decked system? They don't make them for our trucks.

285 KO2’s are on with no rubbing and I was able to leave the mud flaps on which is a plus. Had to shine ‘em up when I got home

The 04 f150 is very close to our bed size. Going to buy it and start cutting until it fits :)

Front diff every 20-30k miles. Transfer longer due to not as mush use.

The front only takes 1.1 quarts? Double check your manual.

I just did the diffs and transfer. The front is 1.1 qts. Honda does the same thing with their dirtbikes. I get frustrated with have to buy extra fluid and measure small amounts to fill to spec.

The excessive play is a good sign it’s just the bearing. Typically you’ll get a slight but if play. But enough to cause a leak will cause what your experiencing

I used to spray a certain very popular bedliner and I've been around a couple other similar products. If I was looking to have the ultimate bed protection I'd use a spray on product like line x or similar and then I'd throw a a plastic liner on top. If I was going really all out, I'd even cut some composite decking or something to fill in the low spots under the plastic liner.
I have a spray in product already and I really want a rubber bed mat to make it a little easier on the knees and even more durable.

Well that's good news. I guess I was just surprised how fast it went from no noise or vibration to toasted, leaking, and flopping around like a fish.

I don't actually know how much lift I have on it. I think it's about as much CV angle at ride height as it was with the 2" lift spacers of maybe even a little better. I've run it like that since about when I got the truck a year and a few months ago. I guess the extra downtravel doesn't help because I can actually droop out more if I really push it on railroad tracks or whatever if I try.

I have up trying to figure out why it happens. I can say aftermarket cv axles cause it to wear out quicker though. Never had a bushing fail.
Hell and front diffs in newer Toyota’s use the bushing now

Hey whoever has a 05 tundra could you get a picture of the fcc id from your key fob? I’m having a bitch of a time finding aftermarkets that work.
