Went to fake 3 years ago. Easier cleanup and Greta approves.

Loooove the smell from a real tree!! Love the low-maintenance of fake.

Neither for a few years, always enjoy any tree more with kids around...

No tree this year. Usually a real tree, Costco has them for $20. Douglas fir. Not as nice as a noble or one you pick yourself but price and smell are good

For decades, we bought a real tree but finally in our 60s wound up with artificial due to weight and cleanup. Plus even being local to the NC mountains it seems most real trees we have bought and lovingly cared for still dry out way too fast.

My motto too. Just went out, cut down my own, and just got it in the tree stand. Your can't match the smell of a fresh cut tree and it will last until Jan 2nd 2020 when I take it down (if I keep adding water).

You burned fossil fuels to go up to the mountains to get it, so you’re not that green either buddy.

Got home 15 minutes ago. I always go real. Silver fraser fir this year. Freaking $69 for a 6.5 footer, I'm thinking this is the last real tree I get, its expensive, a mess, pain to water and shit. I'll look for a post Xmas tree sale and get a fake one. I'm done with real.
Starting to sleet and snow now. About to watch Home Alone with my daughter while we take down Turkey decorations and get out Xmas crap....then Die Hard for me later. Then the Patriots play at 8:20 @jewsNbrews GO PATS! These other games are brutal so its movie time. Not a bad day here in CT other than the tree money lol.

First time in a long time I didn't cut my tree. Bought a Balsam Fir from Orygun at Soopers around the corner. I was told the trees were delivered by horse drawn carts to save the Earth......

I have a fake tree. I usually alternate years on them. A fresh real tree is awesome but yes a pain in the ass.

Go pats! Hope the illnesses dont hinder them too much.

I lost this battle a few years ago. Im a real tree guy but my wife wanted a fake pre lit tree. So the compromise was, i dont have to decorate anything, she takes care of all of it. As an added bonus, she know i love the real tree smell, so she goes above and beyond to make sure the house smells like Christmas. Scent sticks, air freshener, candles, etc.

On the other hand, a living tree serves many purposes.

Gonna be a real tree this year, probably picking it up next weekend. We haven't been able to have a real one due to renting for years. Now that we own our house, we'll be going real. Nothing beats the smell of a real tree.

At $70-$125 for a real tree that inevitably dies right before christmas and is a HUGE fire danger (firefighter here haha) we've spent the money on something that will last and last....aaaaa fake but with real pinetree glade plug-ins....best of both worlds.

Fake all the way. It pays for itself after 2-3 years, no worries about it drying out, no mess. Wife was "real or nothing" until the first hour of having a fake. Not having to vacuum needles and clean up dirt from hauling it in immediately sold her
