It is actually hard to find all over. If you travel internationally or go on cruise ships it is out there very easy for retail

Had pretty good luck with Blantons on the shelf here. Mainly in Idaho, but MT as well sometimes. Seen some people, back east struggle to Eagle Rare...which blows me away. Its usually on every shelf around here.

Not sure if this one was posted, but back in May I visited GB and Ireland and brought home Proper 12--really am enjoying it!

Is this closer to the 46? Can't say I've seen it before.

Its a Idaho state pick. This seemed a little more spicy....reminded me of a rye. The PS is a program with tons of variations. I like it, be the staves dont play i to the spicy aspect.

Cracked a new to me Dry Fly CS and loving it....

Depends on the stave mix - one of the options is Makers 46

    https://www.makersmark.com/makers-mark-private-select

The big liquor chain in my area regularly does an all-makers 46 stave version of this and it's wonderful

Interesting, thanks for the info. I've only ever seen the "normal" 46, not the private select stuff.

It’s a good one. For the Makers fans, Costco has the trio of 375s in a gift pack for the holidays: cask strength MM, cask strength 46, and the private select.

    Edit: it’s available elsewhere, too.

Just found a bottle of Eagle Rare randomly on the shelf in the cheap stuff. Intentionally hidden as a unicorn by the manager. Then, been hunting Lagavulin Offerman Edition since it was announced over a month ago. Finally got one! Only a few made it to the Springs according to one of the liquor stores that was trying to get one for me. And it wasn't hers. She called me right after the rep said another store got all that were in the Springs. Will be trying it later against my last dram of 8yr!

My go-to is usually either Woodford Reserve or Buffalo Trace.

Orphan Barrel Rhetoric 25 yr is also a very good one if you want to spend a little extra.

Well, it was time to try it. I liked the last release of Crown Royal's Noble Collection, which was Blender's Mash. This French Oak Cask seems a bit better.
Price is around $65 for a 750ml, which is the only size that it comes in.

Anything from the Glenallachie (Glen Alla-key) distillery. I have not been able to find it in the states, but if you have a friend headed to Scotland it’s the best Scotch I tried when I was there. As an added bonus, the people at the distillery were the friendliest, too!

    https://theglenallachie.com/

I was able to hand number and bottle my own bottle of single barrel 11yo aged in a chinkapin oak barrel.

So I’ve just recently gotten into scotch instead of bourbon.

Snagged both of these recently at the recommendation of a friend and have not been disappointed at all.

Next on my list to try out is the 18 year Glenfiddich (have a bottle of the 12 and enjoy it - comparable to Mac 12 just not as smooth) and the Lagavulin 16.

The 18 year Glenfiddich is quite good, snagged a bottle on a fishing trip. Normally pretty easy to find.
