2020 Platinum Sway Bars and Intake

I'm having a lot of trouble finding any website, including toyota that will give me parts that I can use on my 2020 platinum. I specifically want to know the part number for the trd cold air intake. I can't even find the part for the 2019. The only part I've been able to find is the

$518 PTR03-00140 Toyota Genuine Parts - TRD Air Intake Truck (PTR03-00140)

PTR03-00140 and that says that it's only for the 2014-2018. Is there a different part for the 19-20 or don't they make one?

Also I picked up the front and rear sway bars as I got a really good deal on them. Just hoping they're the right parts for this year. I've attached photos with the part numbers for the front and rear sway bar.

I really wish toyota would update it's current parts lists to see which fit up to the 2020 models because it makes it very difficult to make sure you're getting the right parts.

 

My rear sway bar is from a 2015 and I’m a 2019 platinum. They haven’t changed the truck much at all since 2007 on the suspensions.

 

I would venture the guess that suspension relatively unchanged since 2007 would mean that the sway bars would still fit. The air intake has only changed once since 2007 but as long as you get a 14+ intake (slightly smaller box) it should work as well. The parts and manuals that have been printed most likely just need to be updated to include newer model years every year. You're our guinea pig!

Lol glad I could help. I’ll be putting them on tomorrow so we will see how it goes. Bought them at my local dealer. Called all around and finally found one that will price match with spark parts even after adding 5% discount! Couldn’t pass them up and they didn’t charge me shipping. Out the door with both of them for $390

 

Also I’m gonna order the trd intake for the Black Friday deal from cool springs so I’ll let you know how that goes once I get it in.

 

I installed both sway bars in my '20. The dealer parts website is not up to date for the 2020 model catalog. I use the '19.

 

Have you done trd skid plate? Thinking about doing that as well. Would be nice to change the oil without having to take the whole thing off.

 

Skip the CAI, and spend that money on a Hellwig anti roll bar for the rear.

 

Are those supposed to be better than the trd rear sway bar? Because I already got the rear sway bar.

 

The Hellwig is an upgrade over the TRD, it's especially noticeable if you tow, haul heavy loads or drive like we are supposed to (aggressively). The Hellwig is thicker, and you can adjust the firmness.

 

Hmmm well damn lol. I'm gonna at least put this trd one on and see how it feels compared to stock.

 

Does hellwig have front sway bars? All I saw was rear.

 

You will notice if you currently don't have a SB. It gets rid of a lot of roll in the cornering. Texas has a lot of fairly high speed roads. 75MPH 2-lanes and one 85MPH toll road that you can you 90 or so. Used to I would get edgy driving into the curves coming over hills and back off. Now it feels like it sticks better

 

Yeah a lot of my driving in Ohio is on the highway about 24 miles to work 20 of which is on the highway. I also got the trd front sway bar. It’s about twice as heavy as the stock one. Solid instead of a tube. Should improve the handling a lot once I get both on.

 

Put the rear on 1st and drive. I haven't done the front so would be curious if you notice the front. The rear takes every bit of an hour including going back and forth to the tool box in the garage and cussing because you didn't bring all the right tools with you when under it and having to crawl back out

 

oh I have everything lol I did that shit for an hour today just running to home depot because of course my sockets only went up to 19 mm. So tomorrow morning I have everything laid out and will just be able to jump right into it.

 

Only thing I had to modify was using a longer 6mm bolt on the driver's side brake line to get a couple of washers under the bracket to offset it to make sure it didn't rub the axle clamps.

 

Also I’m not gonna want to put the rear one on and drive it before I do the front. My truck is coated in woolwax so I’m gonna be a mess when I get out of there so I’m gonna want to get them both out of the way ASAP lol

 

Copy. Mine has a little bit of sand and grit. Snow, ice, and salt give me convulsions these days.

 

So far the woolwax has been awesome. Just a more viscous version of fluid film that doesn't smell. I coated the shit out of the whole underside of my truck, inside frame members, panels etc and it's help up over the past 2 months with all the rain and everything. even in the high wash areas like the wheel wells and under the running boards. I highly recommend it if you want to not worry so much about all the nasty shit they put on the roads.

 

Note to self, don't wander much north of I20 if you can help it this time of year.

Got the rear and front sway bars on today. Took a little less than 3 hours to do both. Wow. It’s honestly amazing how much better the truck handles with them both on. It’s like a different truck lol. The only pain in the ass during installation was removing the skid plate. That made me decide to go with the trd skid plate. There’s no way I’m taking that flimsy stock one off Everytime to change the oil. The front sway bar is so much beefier and more well built than the stock one. Very happy with the results and I think it’s probably the best money you can spend as far as upgrading the ride of the truck.

 

Cool. SR5s from my era doesn't have a skid plate. I might consider your recommendation once I've check and detailed everything underneath. I need to spend a weekend with mine up on ramps to finish checking everything and washing 5 years worth of stuff like sand out and look for any leaks while it's still under the warranty. Warranty runs out at 95K as far as everything. Drive train runs out at 100K. Mine's not nearly as new as yours. You got a nice ride sir

 

thank you. I’m loving it so far. First truck. I’m so happy I went with the tundra. Can’t wait to throw the kayak on the back In the spring and take it out fishing. My last ride was a Honda Civic so it was a total pain in the ass taking the kayak out with the roof rack and tying it down and all the extra stuff I had to do to take it out.

 

Skip the cold air intake, it’s worthless. The sway bars on the other hand are awesome!

 

What about just replacing the stock filter with a different one?

I always use the stock filter, it works just fine.

As stated, don't waste your money on a CAI, your truck already has one.
