DIY Front End Alignment

Looking for feedback from anyone that has experience with any of the DIY front end alignment kits. I'm looking at the Tenhulzen kits right now. They have a $99 version and a $199 version. The reviews seem great and the instructions are pretty straightforward. I've rebuilt motors and transmissions with no issues so I'm left wondering what many of us have at one point or another... "How hard can it be?". But, we also know how that line of thinking can end.


That being said, the video makes it look super simple...



My line of thinking is that for the cost of a couple alignments, one can buy the ability to do them on any of their cars/trucks for a lifetime. So, has anyone gone this route and what are your thoughts?

 

Or you could just buy a tire/alignment warranty from discount tire and not have to worry about it

 

Our Discount doesn't offer alignments and that would only cover one vehicle. Additionally, those warranties typically have a clause that won't go past a year or two and wouldn't cover any alterations made to the vehicle.

Buuutt... I digress.

So, as stated, looking for anyone that may have experience with the DIY systems.

 

Ive been googling the same thing for the last few hours for places here in Houston. Anywhere that could align my wheels and tires wants to charge $250, so i've resulted into figuring out how to do it myself lol

 

LOL.. right there with ya! And I know it's not rocket science but I'm interested in anyone's input that may have either immediately regretted trying the DIY route or has had success.

here) on the Tenhulzen kit are actually very impressive.

 

Looks like the only issue is there is a size limitation where it won't fit large tire setups. :/

 

Firestone will align your truck for 99.00 and a lifetime alignment for 189.00) Not bad I think. I have used them twice already. Once with a leveling kit and also when I changed for bigger tires.

 

It dosent look like it would be too hard to extend them with some aluminum angle and flat stock to make them work on a bigger tire. I might pick these up.
