I tried to find a post on this so forgive me if this is posted somewhere already. Does anyone know if a Gen 2 (2013) CrewMax back seat will fit into a Gen 3 (2016)? Really irritated that Toyota has made it so the back seat doesn't fold forward.

I'm pretty sure it'll fit. The problem I foresee is that there won't be proper reinforcement where the 2nd gen seat would bolt into the 3rd gen floor. That's one of the things that disappoints me most about the 3rd gen.

I don't think that will work. The floor and the carpet are different in the two. The gen 3 has a raised floor where the gen 2 has a different set up with the seat track and the slider. It is stupid the way that Toyota redesigned it. Great for me though, lol

crewmax rear seat 2nd gen.jpg crewmax rear seat third gen.jpg Hard to explain, but if you look at how the floor comes up on the 2nd gens, it does not come up as high as the 3rd gens. Also the bolt holes are in a different spot. You would have to change the carpet to put the seat rails in. In the 3rd gens, there is foam under the carpet as well.

Actually, the back seat is the only reason I'd want a third gen truck.

I believe there is a thread where a member modified the back seat to fold down on a 3rd gen.

WoW, wish I would have know that earlier. Oh well love my storage that I now have that I didn't have before.

Do they make a bracket for the 2019 crewmax to move the rear seat forward about 1-1 1/2 inches.

Just purchased my Tundra and failed to realize the seat change. Was looking for a way to take a look at the sub box and behind the seat storage.
Just assumed Toyota would continue to improve the new Generations. I'm in shock that the reclining rear seat and storage was shorted in the Gen 3.

I’d be in for some storage solution that basically fills the rear passenger floor area on a CM tundra.
