    Thanks for the response. I'll have to climb under and check clearance for my lights. I think I may just mount them in the black plastic since there is ample room for clearance.

    As for the recall I think it only affects 2014-17 with the plastic outer bumper skin. The sub-frame bumper was made out of resin and was cracking when hit. They recalled them and replaced the sub-frame with metal. I have had the lights for a few months and was waiting till I had the recall done. Now that I have the recall done I want to mount the lights.

    Hi guys,

    For any of you that ran the wires from rear to front battery? I have 2 led light pods from kc in my hitch and I want to run the wires up to the front battery then relay to a switch in cab. I was just wondering if anyone has any pointers or best path to run these wires? TIA gents.

    I had some similar ones. They started acting up in about a year. Not all the bulbs would light. Took them off and went recessed. Cleaner look. I put mine in the plastic. There is plenty of room behind the metal but did not want deal with getting nuts on the bolts. You have to careful with placement on plastic because of the tab that holds plastic to bumper end. I used some 48w spot flood combos.

    OK--- love the idea. For me, I think the lights need to be outboard so I can see more of the side of trailer.
    Now the question.... How did you do the wiring???

    2011 Tundra

    Would like a ignition triggered relay to activate fuse board for X# accessories.

    Where under the hood can I find a good ignition ON/OFF wire for the trigger?

    Where did you get the dash switch?
    Like the switch idea as there are times when I will not be in reverse and need the lights.

    Where is the reverse light wire under the hood and what color..?

    You could mount them more outboard but probably not necessary if you get a spot flood combo or just a flood. I wired mine to the the reverse wire at the taillight. This is easiest. If you want lights on when sitting still just turn key, throw in reverse and use parking brake. Myhobbes25 mounted them like I did when I had mine under the bumper. There is a bolt for the bumper that holds the chrome piece to the bumper bracket. There may be another on the outside. I know there is one at the corner on the back of the chrome end cap. I would not want all of the crap from the tire coating my lights and never thought about putting them anywhere else.

    TRD Rear Sway Bar , 6112 front 5160 rear shocks, Retrofit Projector Headlights, Rear LED bumper lights lights, FRAC harness and front camera, TRD Pro Grill and color matched hood bulge.
    OK, took my Tundra in for an oil change, and the service tech said I had a reverse light out on driver's side, he replaced the bulb and this weekend I get in and low and behold I have no auxiliary back-up lights...I have not had time to check but I would suppose that I should start chasing at the rear of the truck to see if I have fire to the lights? (checked at the relay and block up front and I have juice there) I cant imagine both sets "shot" at the same time. Tied into reverse wire in engine bay with a diode fed to the trigger wire with switch, but the switch should still turn them on if that connection was broken. Anything like a surge when the tech changed out the reverse light that could blow all 4 of the LED auxiliary lights?

    Edit, got it figured out. Evidently they must have surged the system somehow when they changed out the bad stock reverse lamp, my 3 AMP fuse in the block going to the trigger. A minute and a half and I was back up, still wonder about replacing that lamp to cause the blown fuse though...

    Very nice write-up.
    One comment from what I see. You are referencing in the link to Amazon the Lights which have 2 small L-shape brackets on each side, but in your pictures you are mounting the lights with a single 1-bolt bracket in the middle. The 1-bolt solution is easier to mount. Is it a wrong link in the post or did Amazon changed the product but remain it at the same link?
