Help! Truck cranks but won't start

Hi everyone,

I haven't used my truck for 3 months and battery died. Charged the battery but won't start.

Any ideas?

Bad fuel?

 

Yup, same battery before it was working.

When i put the key in, the immobilizer still blinking. Is that normal?

 

Sounds like the battery went bad. I’d start with replacing and see if that fixes your issue.

 

The first thing i would do is to load test the battery. Its an easy test, but one that's pretty important. Hope this helps.

 

I did the load test and it is still good. I went to auto zone and see if they can test the battery and i was told it is still good.

 

Anyone know how to disable the immobilizer?

 

The OEM batteries are known for testing good even when they’re causing the problem.

 

This is all true. My 17 battery was dead before the year mark.

 

If the engine is actually cranking I would try to disconnect the fuel line at intake to make sure gas is getting delivered while cranking. Be very careful and capture & contain any fuel that comes out.
I have used a product called "mechanic in a bottle" on smaller engines that sat for a while. May be worth a shot.

I hear the fuel pump and see gas coming out of the fuel line.

 

Is the MIL lit ?

edit....Just noticed your below question....just throwing out a WAG. Do you have another key to try ?

Should be a good sign. Next you need to verify spark at plugs.
The gas quality as mentioned could be an issue. If ignition / spark at plugs maybe replace fuel and try a product like mentioned in previous post.
Gasoline doesn't have an infinite shelf life.

I tried the other key with same result, the immo car key with LED still blinking when I put the key on.

 

I'll try to get a new battery and see.

Obd2 scan for any fault codes?

 

Try your other key if you have one.

 

Dollars to donuts a new battery fixes your issue.

 

I don’t know many Bubba’s who were good at math.

 

Crankshaft position sensor? You should get a code for it though
