This week I am powdercoating a set of TRD off-road wheels for my 2019 white tundra. Should I go gloss black, satin black, or somehwere between the two?

    Pictures would be awesome thanks.

Silver or deep gray, but IMO gloss is easier to maintain...what else do you have on your truck? sliders, bars, etc? Pics?...

I like Satin better IMO but gloss will be easier to keep clean and get some shine on. Aside from the Ohio salt...

Ohio salt sucks! But satin is the way to go!

My wife's vehicle has gloss black wheels. You guys are absolutely right. It is very easy to keep the wheels clean.

No kidding! I'm North of Dayton. I wimped out and drove my old 2WD tundra yesterday so I wouldn't get my salt on my brand new 4WD tundra. Yeah that was dumb. Ice storm yesterday.

Black wheels on a white truck is way overdone in my opinion. Also, from a distance, the black wheel just blends with the tire and is indistinguishable. I was going to go black and decided to go gunmetal. Food for thought.

As someone who has had black wheels for ten years I completely agree. Paint the truck black while you're at it.

Btw, don’t know if you are set on black wheels...but a friend of mine has a lifted white Tacoma with bronze color Method wheels...and it is probably the coolest look I’ve seen!!! Just a thought!

No problem. I am one hour north of Dayton in farm country. Not too many tundras around here. Mostly Chevys and Fords and Dodge.

I like to be a bit different. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever seen a TRD pro around here....ever.

So my TRD look-a-like will be unique.

Maybe just leave it machined. I do like the black look but it does seem to disappear into the tire.F8405774-EF2E-4DAC-9643-1138E5C60327.jpg

The center caps alone change the look of the wheel. That chrome Toyota emblem always seemed feminine to me LOL

if you can't be talked out of it, i vote gloss. However, i'd leave them alone, especially for $110/tire! I think the stock TRD 18s are awesome looking. Maybe sell them and find someone with the gloss black take-offs? Probably a cheaper alternative than $440.
