Super easy install. Took me a whole 25 min. And thats with splicing 1 whole wire!!!

 

After sitting on the starter for a few weeks, finally got it installed on my 19. Had one issue that was my fault when doing the install. James was outstanding with the customer service and replied within minutes of my email and knew i had installed it improperly by my explanation of symptoms. Great product and exceptional customer service.

 

Decisions, decisions!

 

Installed mine yesterday in my 2010 “Dot” key. Took no more than 2 hours start to finish, and that included test fitting everything and then soldering in the 7 wires necessary for the Dot key install. If this kit were plug and play for my truck it would have taken less than 45 minutes to install.

Note to others with ‘07-‘10 Dot keys (No letter “G” on your key, just a little dot): The ignition harness is still plug and play, but the rest of the kit is not. There are 7 wires that have to be tapped into various other connectors (OBDII, keysense, parking lights, etc.). Overall this was still a very easy install, and I would recommend it, but I just wanted to clarify that for anyone with those model years who is a little confused. Happy to answer any questions people have about the install on a 2010.

 

Just installed mine. EZ PZ. Hardest part was finding a good location for the unit to stay. Great deal, thanks again. I'm even more excited for hunting season now!

 

Finally installed mine, pretty easy. Watched the video twice and read the instructions twice before starting, then referenced both during install. No issues at all. This is a 2017 'G' key, no glass break sensor, just the most basic version that works off of the OEM fob. I ended up tucking all the extra wires and the unit on top of what I think is the airbag unit (right in the middle under the steering wheel, what the OBII port is attached to).

I did accidentally turn the key too far once so far past 'On/run' and hit the starter, truck shut off then went through the start-up procedure as if I started it remotely from the fob again, no issues after it started again.

Also this was the first time I was able to hear the truck fire up from outside with the dirty deeds 10", I like it!

I thought I read somewhere previously, but is there a way to shut the truck off with the fob too? Also haven't tested to see if it shuts down after 15 min idle, but I don't think I'll let it sit that long. Mainly bought this to warm the truck up/defrost windows in the mornings in winter. Once you 3 lock press to start. Press the lock 3 times and it will shut off

Well you guys convinced to order one so I placed my order. I went with the lifetime warranty as well. I’m kind of reluctant after getting the warranty and looking around the website. I don’t see a physical address or phone # only James’s email. Am I the only one with a concern?

 

Just ordered mine as well. Opted for the CL6 too. Looking forward to getting into a warm truck in winter and a cool truck in summer!

ok im installing in my 2019 today.what wire do i splice into and whats the program instructions? been searching and barley have internet.someone please simplify for me please.

just installed mine this morning. very easy!! great customer support. highly recommend. cutting one wire is nothing.

 

Installed on my 2015 TRD in one hour forty five minutes MOC'ed and tools put up.

Had to read the instructions a few times and had to refer to the video a few times, Could use some improvement.

If I have a unrelated electrical issue later I'm thinking I might have to disconnect everything and return to factory? Man I hope not. Thanks for the thread!

Just getting around to this now.

2017 SR5. Installed according to video & programming instructions. It worked the first time after programming while sitting in thevtruck with the door open, then it won’t start now.

I checked all connections, reprogrammed according to the fortin pdf. Now nothing.

I’ve tried different cadences of the 3x fob press.

What am I missing?

Finally got around to installing in my 2017. I cant believe how easy it was. Thanks again James.

 

Has anybody sprung for the long range remotes? Can't decide if I want to add them or not.... I would like the option to start the truck beyond my line of sight.

 

That's a tempting option as well. How's it been working for you? I've heard mixed reviews; some complain about the reliability.

Ordered another one of these with carlink. Finally got fed up with horrendous factory remote start. Guess I'll have to dig in and get the factory one out.

 

I opted not to get the carlink; is that something I can add later if I decide I want it?

 

You can add it later but his group buy for 135 is the last group buy for remote start aand carlink link mentioned in the header. I purchased the remote start in the first group buy then bought the car link with this group buy. My opinion I should have gotten both in the beginning so much easier to deal with and also being able to lock and unlock without being near the truck and gos tracking but that’s just my opinion. I also have a pop n lock so when I used my key fob I got annoyed with my actuator in the tailgate going off 3 times. Now I just starts and no actuator going off using the app
