Thanks. I watched a few vids and they all had small variations so I wanted to get feedback from this forum.

    Stock.... as of now.
    Pretty straight forward process...

    Sway bar
    3 bolts on the bottom
    4 nuts on top
    drops right out

Are you replacing with loaded or are you swapping the OEM spring? That takes more time but isn't difficult.

If you are just doing oem replacements it will be extremely easy on a 2wd. It will pop right in place

OEM parts and pre-loaded. Its all the stuff at the bottom of the strut is what I was looking at. What I actually have to take off to get the strut out.

I wish I could give you the technical names but its really simple!

    disconnect sway bar
two bolts that run vertical from the bottom that attach the outer a arm to the spindle
bolt and nut that attach the shock to the a arm
four nuts on top that hold the shock to the tower
push down the lower a arm and it will drop out

    that simple.

For an oem replacement setup, you very well may not need to disconnect the sway bar even.

The arms hanging free might drop plenty on a 2wd

Why do most videos say, you have to loosen the 2 big bolts that hold the lower control arm on?

Because most of the time you are putting in a taller/stiffer lifting shock or coilover

And on top of that, 4wd trucks have the cv axle that won’t let the arms droop as far as the 2wd setup
