Didi the 6112's /5100's leveling about a year and a half ago. Have 6112's at highest setting and it rides nicer than stock. I don't even slow down for speed bumps. I did replace the UCA's, was right at the point that I didn't have to but decided it was the right thing to do, I've got about 45kish miles on them and still happy with the ride.

I don’t think switching back will be that much better ride and especially not for $400. I started at 1.9 and ended up maxing it out. Most people who have or plan on getting bigger tires end up on the top setting anyway.

I say deal with it and take your ire pressure down around 35 to see if that helps. Spend the $400 on something else.

Bulge and surround look good [color-wise] to me, the rims are excellent, and the whole truck is fire [as the kids say, which means really sweet].

And ... it rides like a truck.

    You have no problems.:D

Thanks, yeah I really am loving the look of the wheels on it. It's pretty different from what you usually see. The place that did the work got ahold of me and asked if I could send them some pictures for them to use on there site. I told them I will once they get the new tpms working.

    Stock.... as of now.
So how is the ride after removing the spacer lift and installing the new shocks?

Definately better. I don't feel every imperfection in the road transfer through like I did before with the spacer lift.

Used SPC's (IIRC). not super high performance, but a very good upgrade vs stock.

Just picked up a new 2020 Limited w/ TRD Off-Road package. First thing I want to do is bring the front up a bit.
Reading up on the Tundra it seems that most advise against a spacer kit on this truck, and the Bilstein 6112 kit seems to be the most recommended way to go. I've run spacer kits on a Silverado and a Dodge 2500 and never heard of had an issue with them on those platforms. This truck will be my DD with some camping trips and beach days, but nothing anyone would consider "off-road". I don't count fire roads or dirt roads as off-roading. If I can follow my wife in her Highlander its not off-road.

My question is how does the spacer kit cause a harsher ride on this truck? It seems to me a spacer between the top of the strut and the strut mount would just push the truck up while keeping everything else the same. How does it create more preload on the spring?
Spring length and seat-to-seat length would remain the same wouldn't it? I'm not arguing against all the opinions I've read, I guess I just don't understand the difference between lengthening the overall strut length mounting points vs installing an overall longer/adjustable strut. Could it be just a more perceived harshness or is there really something happening to the factory strut by adding a spacer on top?
Price for each option is significant, but we're only talking hundreds of dollars, not thousands, so not a huge deal for a $50k truck, and I can do the work myself minus the alignment. I'm still just curious and want to learn something here so I hope someone can explain the actual cons of the spacer kit before I make a decision. Like I said, a 2" spacer on the Silverado did nothing to the ride quality, simply raised the front of the truck. The spacer I put on my Ram 2500 w/ Cummins did the same, and that truck is so heavy up front anyways that I doubt I would have noticed the difference, and I ended up putting on some Bilstein shocks anyways just due to the stockers needing replacement.

Thanks and look forward to learning something here before I go one way or the other.
