Dropping in to say Hey.. New member to the forum and “once again” New Tundra Owner. This is my 3rd Tundra and who knows what number Toyota I’m at now. Looking to build this out with Overland Camping in mind. Anyone in Florida (Central Florida) area that’s overlanding I would love to get some knowledge, tips and tricks maybe meets and rides? Here’s a couple Pics. Enjoy.. Thanks Everyone..

    Welcome!

It you want to actually get it off the pavement and into the hills, my first suggestion would be to sell those steps and put the money toward some rock sliders. I personally went for the @RCIoffroad sliders because they were the only bolt on full function sliders I could find that didn't require drilling or welding to use as a true slider. I got their skids on their labor day sale, too. Shipping might make it prohibitive for you, but there are lots of slider options.

Yes I agree, honestly these steps are sorta pointless for my height/foot size I guess. The step is extremely small and close to the cab. They came on the truck from factory so they will be changed out eventually. Thanks for the input. I am learning the tundra platform isn’t as parts friendly for overland/wheeling as my 4Runner and Taco were. My biggest hurdle at the moment is figuring out what to do about the drilling for a roof rack :(

There are some non drilling options and some bed racks that reach up over the roof if you want to keep her intact.

I drilled into my roof to attach a roof rack. It's actually not bad at all.20190324_152749.jpg
You don't even need to pull the headliner all the way down. Just the edges.

We may be able to figure something out then. I’m currently in a deer stand in Georgia at the moment but when I get back next week we can talk a little more on this..
