I already found a set of mirrors, but having trouble finding the mirror control unit, other than paying $150 at the dealership.

I got mine off of FaceBook Marketplace. Paid $180 for 2013 Limited power fold mirrors for my 2017 SR5. Bought the switch off of eBay for around $80. Yes you can swap out the caps. you can pop the mirror off by sticking a upholstery tool under and applying even pressure until it pops up. Then you will have access to the caps.

Just as the other post I found my on offer up. As for auto parts you will have to do your research because none all have all the bells and whistles like an OEM.

Ditto with the other reply I asked the same question and was told even the OEM does not have a back light, you get use to where it is .....

    UPDATE:

These are in the process of being made for each generation and each variation of the Tundra and wow you guys have a lot of variations. Question for you guys tho. What kind of fuse do you have under your dash? Tacoma’s use a low profile

    8658E6AC-E964-4CD8-992E-C9A474381F5C.jpg

I need to know what the 2nd and 3rd Gen Tundras use for the Trucks that don’t have a 12V Wire that is Constant in their Drivers Door.

Tundras also have the low profile fuse.
For constant power I use the Cig outlet

Where is that located if you don’t mind me asking. Are you talking in the fuse panel or you talking actually tapping the wire. Do you happen to have a picture of your fuse panel cover for under your dash? Also, do you guys have it like the Tacoma where you have a fuse that is unused at the bottom that is always hot. That is where I have designated the SR5 Tacoma’s Folding Mirror Fuse spot location now. I took it over :)

I tapped the power directly behind the cig lighter.
I installed power seats from another Tundra Trim level, and needed constant power for the seats to move.

The plan is to install the fuse at the end of the wire just like I have done for the Tacoma SR5 Harness

Is that like an add a fuse?

Also, are you adding motors for the power folding and a switch?

Or are we providing the OEM Folding MIrrors and Switch?

That depends on the kit you purchase from me and your needs. From my understanding I will need to offer I believe three options. We will get more into this when it gets closer and open my thread up which I need to do like now and I’m not sure why I haven’t. Haha. I feel bad for high jacking this thread :( Sorry OP. I will do that soon. I will try to do that maybe this weekend. I find the Tundra are a little confusing because of how many variations there are but I think I am finally starting to understand all of them after really analyzing the wire diagrams. Still working on the switches. That one I’m a little confused on. I have my switch that I offer with my kit that looks like your OEM but has the folding mirror button. However, where I get confused is that I am away there are also three or four different options of this OEM Switch depending on the features you have on your truck. I did not know this until the Tundras. I did not learn this from the 4Runners as they use the same Switch. Something to do with your memory seat function and whatnot. Now I’m not sure if that plays a role in this switch or your Master Switch part, but I don’t really see a button on the actual switch that seems different. Maybe I can get some help here.

TRD rear sway bar, console organizer, stubby antenna, LEDs for cabin, cargo, license plate, and reverse lights, power-fold mirrors, Westin nerf bars, full stereo upgrade. Future - color-match grill surround/bulge, mirror caps, handles, plasti-dip badges.
From my research on this for my own power-fold installation on my 2018 Limited Tundra, I found that there were two switches - a 10-pin and an 8-pin. The 10-pin switch is for non-memory systems (no memory for mirrors or seats). I believe the reason for this is that the memory package adds an ECU in the door, thus less wires for the actual switch. The 8-pin is used for the memory systems w/ ECU in the door. This is of course related to using a factory switch in the factory location along with the factory mirror harness. I believe both switches are used across several Toyota models (I think mine came from a RAV-4). I'm not sure if it's any different for the 2-gen trucks. Hope this helps.

To add to the above - I'm sure any truck that doesn't have power folding mirrors from the factory also does not have a memory package, and probably uses the regular 10-pin switch/harness. My factory switch didn't have the last two pins, but still worked with the factory harness and I added the extra wires for power fold.

It’s a fuse that is added directly to the end of the wire in my harness so you can literally just take the wire and plug it directly into the fuse panel. Depending on which option you choose that is an option you can select yes. I have the switch and motors. You do not have to purchase those two things if you do not want to go out and purchase those

Start at this post on page 8 Post 218/ you will see where all you have to do is rearrange two wire/pins.

Across the pond in Japan or Europe. Ebay or google or DIY. #840870-28040

Edit: Changed ebay link to a known lighted switch. They use a different connector than non-lit switches hence the wire adaptor.

I looked at the eBay one but description doesn’t mention anything about backlit. The description actually doesn’t mention anything about anything lol. How are you sure it’s backlit or even has powerfold button?

They look slightly different. Besides part number you can tell by button arrow locations.

In the pic below, Left one is NOT lit (#84872-52040), center one IS lit (big button only)(#84870-28040), right one IS lit (all buttons)(#?).

    Same goes for non-folding switches.

Keep checking Ebay. You'll also need an adapter like the one in my post above as the connectors & pin order are different. That ebayer sells one separately for $20 but I'm not sure if it will work on the switch to the far right of the pic.

EDIT: The one on the right is mostly used overseas and is physically too big to fit most USA models.
