I have a 2006 extended cab Tundra and I'am installing a back up camera, on to a Pioneer head unit. I got the head unit working fine. And I have the wires ran from the license plate camera frame under the bed up to the back of the cab. My question is what is the best way to enter the back of the cab with the wires? Should I just drill a hole under the carpet and cover it with caulk. Or is there access holes that I'm unaware of. Any help would be appreciate Thanks

I ran mine up into the engine bay and poked a hole through a firewall grommet. No drilling required and would need some serious balls to the wall wheeling to get that part wet.

    Welcome to the party!!

You should already have wires ran from back of truck to inside the cab, for tail lights and such. Look a little harder abd run with whats already there.

In my 2006 DC, there was a rubber grommet access under the drivers seat. Maybe it will be the same on the AC?

To use the back up camera is it as simple as plugging into the stereo. . does it engage when put in reverse?

Should be there on all trucks. Pull the scuff plate on the drivers door and it should be pretty easy to lift the carpet up and see.

Green/Red wire on the passenger side. Marked as connector J28/29 in the attached file.

Depends on the camera/monitor. I used the older version of this kit https://www.amazon.com/AUTO-VOX-T2-...d_r=13GX4DPH0ZB89FVQRE8Y&psc=1&qid=1573073540 . It works off of the signal from the camera input no reverse wire necessary in the cab.

I have to manually put the stereo in backup camera video mode. . When I shift to reverse it doesn't go automatically. . . wondering if anybody has insight. . thanks!

Go ask in the FRAC thread. Lou might be able to answer your question.
