Picking up my 6112 today. Now it’s on to the rear shocks.

    Other than the reservoir,
Are the 5160’s considerably better than 5100’s ? And why?

Can’t compare since I never had 5100s on the Tundra (have had them on other vehicles and found them to be good shocks, though). I do have 5160s, though, and theoretically the added reservoir should help reduce shock fade more. FWIW, I’m also running 6112s up front and think this setup rides much better than stock.

I have no experience with the 5160's. I had to replace my 5100's after a few high speed off road runs in less than 20k miles (mainly highway.) Hitting some mild ruts and dirt roads around 20 mph made the ride pretty smooth. Anything faster than that I wouldn't recommend them.

I’ve had 5100s on the rear of my rig since I slapped the Readylift kit on it. No complaints, zero issues and if there’s a ride difference in Foxes I can’t tell (my friend’s tundra had the Fox 2.0s in the rear).

I do beach runs, mild mud sessions, but mainly highway miles.

good catch. I didn’t notice that in the Amazon listing for 5160. Looks like there’s a few different mounts available in different price ranges. Thanks for that info.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think for about $100- or so more , I’ll go for the 5160’s.

Agreed! I did the same set up 6112 and 5160's and it's an incredible improvement over the stock shocks!
