    Good Morning
Went out to use my 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 yesterday and she started off running a bit on the rough side. My drive to work is about apprx 20 miles and it appeared after it warmed up (it was about 30 degrees outside), it seemed to run normal. It had a bit of spitting and sputtering/vibration for a bit.

On my way home, when I started it, it was idling/running rough again. This time when I started driving it it tossed the CEL light and started to blink (started blinking on 3 different times within the first 10 miles of driving). I would say for about 10 miles the truck ran rough, sputtering/ vibrating when I would lightly step on the gas. If I floored it, it seemed like it ran ok. After about 10 miles it seemed to clear out and ran better.

I got home and plugged in the reader and it came up with the two codes, Cylinder 1 and 4 misfire. Normally I believe this could be a coil or plug related issues. But since the issue went away after driving for a bit, should I be looking deeper? Injector issue? Timing Issue? I don't want to start tossing parts and money at it quite yet. Figured if it was the coils, then the truck wouldn't clear out and run better after it 'warms' up.

I went out and started it this morning and it was started up rough again. I cleared the codes and plan on swapping coil 1 for 7 and coil 4 for 2, just to see if the misfire follows that pattern.

No idea when the plugs or coils were done as I bought this off a guy that stated he did all the work himself, and all of this was done recently. He said the same thing regarding the 02 sensors, and I have had to replace two of those shortly after purchasing.

Thoughts? Advice? Similar issue with your rigs in the past? Truck has 141k, and timing belt was done at 96k.

Thank you in advance for any tips or advice on this matter.

A lot of misfire/rough running issues are solved by simple maintenance. I think you answered your own question. You bought a used vehicle with 141K miles with unknown maintenance done to it. The first thing I do when I purchase a used vehicle is complete fluid changes/tune-up. That way I have a known starting point for maintenance intervals and if a problem does arise I know what's been done.

Spark plugs are inexpensive and easy to replace. I would start with a simple tune-up and see if that corrects your proplem. If not troubleshoot further. It's money and time well spent either way because it's something that should have been done. And when troubleshooting a problem you can go in circles by over looking the simple maintenance that wasn't done.
