    Fellow Tundra Owners:

I am in the process of finding a complete fuel system cleaner. The local Toyota dealership where I get my oil changes recommends 44K. Does anyone have any good feedback on this cleaner? Since a can treats 20 gal., I assume I should use almost 2 cans in a 38 gal tank.

What do you all recommend? Is there a thread on complete fuel system cleaners? Thanks for the help.

IMO, that service is just free money for the dealer aka snake oil. Just run a good quality fuel from a reputable gas station. Don't go searching for a problem when there isn't one.

    Lost track after #1.
Many threads. Sea Foam (Seafoam) or Berryman's B12. Or just use Top Tier fuel.

Occasional treatment of Techron works...or just use Chevron gasoline which costs a few cents more per gallon.

On my 2015 Tundra I ran 1 can of BG 44k through the tank at around 30k just for preventative maintenance. That truck had the smaller tank so just used 1 and filled it up. I can only assume it worked well as I didn’t have the truck much long after I did the 44k. Not sure on 2 whole cans, might see if you can call BG directly and ask. Only advice I think
Is to run it a few hundred miles before an oil change.

Go to [real gas dot org] and find a station that sells ethanol-free fuel. It may take a while to find one in your area, but worth it. Next, avoid fill ups on Th/Friday. Those are the day that tankers most likely make their deposits and you are likely to get the water/crap stirred up from the bottoms. IMHO, it's kind of what sucks with the whole "flex-fuel" marketing; there's a higher likelihood for there to be water in it.

I've seen some you tube videos that say that shell 91 or 93 octane have 7 to 10 times more additives to clean than 87 or 89 octane so on my truck since 2008 I have always used shell 89 and once a month I fuel up with 93 or 91 to clean it and so far no problems. I also used BG additive every oil change for the oil and also the fuel tank

Can't go wrong with Shell or ethanol free from Maverick. Beware of snake oil remedies offered at most tune up shops.

I've never had any issues with my vehicles and I exclusively use Chevron fuel in my Tundra. Even while traveling I will go out of my way to find a Chevron station. In my wife's vehicle, she doesn't care where she puts fuel, I add a bottle of Chevron w/Techron complete fuel system cleaner to it every 5k miles. I'm by no means a pro but you asked for my $0.02

Another vote for Shell 93 octane. I will occasionally add a fuel injector cleaner and also had complete fuel system flush at around 25K miles just for the hell of it.
