30K mile maintenance

Came out this morning and there is a puddle of gear oil on my skid plate. Somebody fucked up and I want it fixed. Not stoked. Glad I have a daily driver and not driving truck daily making things worse. Have to drive 70 miles back to dealer. Bummer since I have always had good service their.

 

Are they sending you a (free) tow truck?
I’d be soooo pissed. My truck IS my daily driver!

 

I doubt that. Gonna be nice but let them know I am not pleased.

 

That sucks... something about leaving my truck and letting someone else work on it makes me worry. I’ve always done all my own maintenance and work on my own vehicles until I got my Tundra and I’ve only dropped it off for one oil change and not sure if I can bring myself to take it back here again in 1000 miles or so. Something to be said for the peace of mind and reassurance it brings that the job is done right when you do things yourself. Granted sometimes there are certain things that need to be done by a professional or need specialized equipment to perform but in my mind it’s not acceptable to get your brand new $50k truck back with gear oil leaking out the skid plate. Sorry to hear that man hope they can make it right for you and nothing is damaged.

 

Well the dealership was so vague on what really happened. They cleaned all the gear oil and refilled and tested to make sure all was okay. Service manager didn't give much bata on what they found. Someone fucked up and their covering their tracks. Well a least they made it right. Sucked I had to waste a whole morning to get it fixed. Shit happens!

 

Hello everyone! I’m here here, I came accorded this forum seeking help about our Toyota tundra 2019 bought last April done maintenance until 25k and bought Toyota guard Oman protection too and used all of it. We’re at 30,060 mileages now and Toyota beaver dealer Cumming, GA wants us to pay $862 for 30k factory service, Is that highly recommended with the price they quoted? Please help us what’s all really needed for Tundra 2019 30k services to be done? Thank you for any information. Appreciate it!

 

That sounds like an absurd amount to me. You could do it for much less. All the differentials and Tcase would run you about 150 max with fluids and new gaskets. Add on another 50 bucks for engine oil and filter, 25 bucks for air filter, 20 for cabin filter, and you could even do a drain an fill on your tranny for around 50 bucks. So you are talking 300 bucks at most for doing it yourself in an afternoon.

Approximate costs including incidentals…
- 0w-20 synthetic engine oil and filter: $80
- Transfer case oil: $170 (75W oil from Toyota)
- differential

$39 75w-90 GL-5 Limited Slip, Ultra Long Drain 500k Miles, Manual Transmission, Gear/Differential Lubricant (1 Gallon)

75w-90 synthetic front and rear: $110
- Cabin filter: $15
- Air filter: $15

Right about where madmax is at.
