Ok, so I've got an '11 DC SR5. I've been looking for a crewmax but funds are a little tight. I've found a 2007 with less miles than are mine and its a Limited. My ONLY concern is that it will be 10 years old in January. They worked out a pretty good deal for me, thoughts?

In that case, I'd say if the price is right and it's been taken care of, go for it.

I'm not a big "age" person, what matters is the wear and tear on it.

Plus, the truck has a TRD CAI, it makes a little noise but I can tell it adds some power

    Yeah, I'm the same way.

Part of me says, dang, its 10 years old.

The other part of me says, 'you brag about the Tundra's longevity, time to walk the walk'

Hmmm... That's tough. If it was taken care of I don't think the year difference is a big deal.
Paint, windshield, headlights all look good?
I'll assume it is a Texas truck and the undercarriage is rust free.
If you need the CM and the price is right, it sounds like a good deal.
07' was the first year for the second gen, did they make any minor changes that are important to you between 07 and 11? 11' still has the old AIP design right?

I took a look a look at the Carmax, it's been in Portland Oregon, not familiar with that region.

I didn't see any rust, and yes, old AIP design, same as my 2011.

It was pretty well taken care of, lots of records of service. The water pump was replaced in the last year.

I don't think so, original warranty definitely expired.

And my opinion on extended warranties is mixed. For the price, I could easily buy the parts and do repairs myself.

Personally I love the space of the CM. If you feel you need the space, I doubt you will regret the move, limited is all fancy pants too. I would assume you will like the 5.7 better as well.

You'll like the 5.7 and enjoy the additional room. What are they willing to give you for your truck? If you're taking out a loan to get the 2007, will the bank hesitate due to it being 5 years older?

So it's a CrewMax (something you need) with the limited package (an upgrade) less miles (should mean more to you than it being 4 years older than yours and it's still the same Gen) comes with a shell (an extra) larger motor with TRD cai (more power). All positives!

Something's we can't see ... How's the interior? Any rust? Will losing your BBS wheels (assuming that's what's on your Tundra) mean much to you? Tire wear on the CM? And of course, how good of a deal are they giving you?

Do the positives out way the negatives ... If so, I say go for it.

Top part of my quote "if it's been taken care of"

That's always been a big thing of mine. I'd much rather a one previous owner than two or more. But I have seen some cleaner two owner vehicles, but those are very rare.

Thanks guys. It has had two previous owners. They are offering almost $15k for mine and giving theirs for $17.8k. And I worked them down to $3.5k in between (out the door).

Regarding the 4x4 comment, I don't need it, I used to have one and I didn't ever use it, and now every hunting trip I go on theres a few 4x4 vehicles available for me to use.

Regarding condition, didn't see any rust, I will take a close look tomorrow. I did check the cam towers an didn't see any leak.

Interior is pretty clean, the usual things you'd expect. Wheels aren't a big deal to me as long as they are not the cheap a$$ steel factory wheels.

    None taken @gosolo !!

Wasn't sure if you saw my comment where I said that or not. But the number of owners do have a factor in my decision only trump card in that situation is degree of care. Didn't mention that in my first post so nice catch!
