My 15 yr. old factory headlight assemblies are fogged, yellowed, and one side-marker full of water, so figured it's time for a replacement. I order these off Amazon following good reviews: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079DJRW6W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 COMPLETE JUNK! There is absolutely no horizontal adjustment possible despite their being a screw. I was able to adjust vertically okay, but not the least horizontally so I have a narrow 6ft. wide beam right in front of the truck, then a dark shadow about 4ft. to the sides of that and a little light after, makes turns pretty difficult! So, wondering if anybody here recommends aftermarket assemblies that actually work and can adjust both ways?

    Thanks!

    Akkon has some nice assys.

First set (2 headlamps and 2 sidemarkers): One of their side markers leaked after a month. Went through return process and they sent a whole new set!

Kept the box and stashed away the ‘leaky’ one (which will get some caulking) with the new others. Complete new back up set for the future!

So far so good with about a year on these. Clear and clean. Nice reflector action. Good adjustments, as well. 2002 Tundra.

In my experience all the aftermarket headlights are trash. Their reflectors are inferior and aligning them is a pain. Hell spent $150 on mine and they are still crap. Just like OEM my ass. I'll be upgrading them with retrofitted HID projectors in the future.

I ordered these and were pretty pleased with them. The headlights fit great, and I didn't need to align them (though I should probably tweak them down a tad due to my lift). The corners site a little proud of the headlight but you can't really see it...you have to feel it. I've had them for about 18 months and they seem to be holding up just fine. Came in an Angel Eyes branded box from Taiwan. Happy with the light output too...much better than my stockers with hazed housings.

Note: I had initially planned to just polish my OEMs, but one headlight housing was broken, and one corner light was broken. I was even going to find non-broken items from the parts yard and clean them up, but they are few and far between around me. I thought these would be a good budget try.

Yeah. I polished mine about 8 years ago with a $35 3M Polish Kit. Looked much better, but not new and only lasted about 6 months. Second polishing looked like butt. Bought some Mainland China mades ($50 with bulbs!) which lasted till this past year.

The early 1st Gens headlights combos are pretty inexpensive (non-OEM). Mine were about $115 from Tiawan and these Akkons side by side with the Mainlanders seem much better made. Heavier and more precise components fab.

OEM is $450? I’m sure they are made well, but is the price paid worth it if these Akkons are doing their job?

That's what I picked up a few weeks back for my 06. Not exactly thrilled with the adjustment system. I sit and turn the adjusters for 10 minutes and can't tell if anything is moving. My old headlights were broken so I had no choice but to replace but I'm not sure I'll be keeping the akkons or akkrons or whatever they are.

I had that adjustment problem myself until I found out about the long phillips screw driver down the top adjust hole to adjust that cam trick. Prior, I was using two 10mm wrenches on the backside/frontside of nut and it took forever and was so slow it was difficult to tell if an adjustment was being made. It was a stupid hand model mistake, but thanks to everyone here to help me figure it out.

I'll be a hand model if I keep trying to adjust these headlights with my long phillips screwdriver. Honestly I turn one side for 5 minutes solid and maybe it moves a little but not much. I'm thinking that much turning should be the difference between the sky and pointing 4' in front of the bumper.

For 1st gen Tundra headlights these are different, and can't imagine what they would look like on 1st gen trks. However, on vehicles from different mfgr's I've seen them and they're not bad looking at all. If your not familiar with the other mfgr's vehicles these aftermarket headlights are on you wont know the year it is.
