    The fact that Northstar AGM batteries are expected to have 3X-5X longer service life than the garden variety flooded lead-acid batteries under the same conditions makes it a BEAST imo.

    Yeah, I know, that's the manufacturer's claim, but there is some user history to back it up. It's worth a couple of hundred to me not to worry about battery reliability for a long time.

    My brother got into delivering batteries to mines. They were hard on them, and pretty much exclusively used Odyssey batteries due to cold weather. North Star in my opinion is a better battery than Odyssey for the day to day user.

    Yep. Springfield, MO. Not sure, but I believe Northstar is a division of a European conglomerate. But...Toyota is headquartered somewhere else, too.

    I put a X2Power 27F in mine during pandemic because
    1. OEM was leaking out every week when I left pavement
    2. Added winch load
    3. No other brand was in stock during pandemic peak
    Scared the crap out of me the first time I cranked it. Thought the starter was going to explode it was turning over so fast.
