68lbs of 99.997% pure lead makes it one heavy puppy.

it could be a 200 year old article. if the specs are the same accross the three batteries, then its still as good as an article done yesterday

You are missing my point. As someone that visit a forum such as this one, I’d like to understand why something is a better purchase than others by reading posts from other members about tried and true. I am not trying to start an internet pissing match on who has a bigger “battery, however when I see a post labeled that this battery is a “beast” with 2 photos attached, it give me no info as to why OP finds it to be a beast compared to my 6 year old Toyota battery that’s still starting my truck. A link to an article, even 3 years old, is still better than zero info other than 2 photos, which I’d consider a shit post.

And aside from a 3 year old article, or 930 CCA...what’s so amazing about a battery that costs twice as much as a factory one that has lasted 6 years is all that I’m trying to understand while calling out OP for having zero info behind their post

I guess it is my post and I can write what I feel like writing. If you feel that I didn't inform you with all the specs, feel free to look them up yourself.

The pics show the specs which are considerably better than stock specs. He also explained the significance of the pure lead used. Obviously you feel the shitty stock battery is sufficient... no need to knock this guy for posting about his upgrade.

The normal factory battery life is 2-4 years on my Toyota’s (for the last 6 I’ve owned). Some people that live in areas that don’t kill batteries fast (like Texas) can get away with a lot longer.

Personally, I need good batteries. Getting stuck out in my weather could be deadly. Charging systems differ between brands (some have dual alternators and batteries) but work the same.

    Texas here.
Yes they do live longer, if they're old the first little cold snap would kill it.

It's going to be 32 on Thursday. I expect a dead batterie

Not that the heat isn’t hard on batteries as well.

    Damn, 32*. Burrrrrr

That will feel cold considering the norm in your location.

I thought the heat was way harder on the batteries than cold?

@Outbound is in Canada. Doesn't your 06 still have the original Toyota battery?

As far as I can tell, I do still have the original battery. Corroded and ugly as hell but my remote start still works down to -45 celsius :D

It can be worse, depending on how hot. I’ve never had a battery fail in the summer....

What happens in the cold to a battery is different than what happens in the heat.

Yep, it's heavy. At my age, and the Tundra's height, I had to do an overhead press with hands together just to get it onto the radiator support. Then, getting it into the hole without throwing my back out was a challenge. :D
