I have decided to add steering wheel audio controls to my 2005 Tundra SR5 DC. I have got the controls sitting in front of me and want to know if the center up / down arrows (buttons) move through radio presets or seek channels?

Just to add, if the 2005 SR5 is like a 2004 DC Limited, the up/down arrows not only do presets like what was mentioned above but if you depress and hold the up/down for approx. 2 sec?, a chirp is heard and it will either seek or scan for a channel, can't remember which one. Truck is having surgery or I would go check !

    Thanks all.

Anyone know if a same year Camry steering wheel is the same as the Tundra? Sure looks identical in pictures.

Yeah it’s the same on the 4 runner, taco, Camry, and I think Highlander.

My 01 doesn't have steering wheel controls. Does anyone know if the wiring is there and I can just grab a steering wheel from a newer truck? I have an aftermarket head unit that's compatible with steering wheel controls

Unless you have this wheel, you're outta luck. Although I think someone over on TS managed to retrofit some super old stalk mount controls from another Toyota onto his early model 1st gen. Might have to do some digging for that one though.

Oddly enough, my ‘03 is the opposite; if I press the up/down buttons it scans, I have to hold it for the couple seconds, then it chirps and changes to my next preset- I wish it was the other way around, anyone know if it’s a programmable thing?
