The factory antenna hits my garage when I go in/out. It also makes my fiberglass fenders flex and I don't think that's good long term. I will probably put a 17-20" flexible rubber style one on there to help with this because I do listen to the radio pretty much all the time. My xm radio is set-up for my wife's car and I listen at work on wifi with my phone but the data would mean I'd have to upgrade or change my phone plan. So it's longer antenna and the classical station for me!

I wonder if there is a blank rubber plug to fill that hole? (Cue Darkness)

Seems no antenna would look the nicest.

Its been since 1999’s Party since I listened to el radió.

@TheAntennaSource can help find a quality short antenna. On my truck I can hardly tell it's a stubby, the roof mounted stubby on my GTI there is absolutely no difference in reception. Good stuff.

Found some plugs, but they’re sold in large packs and round in shape. Anyone have a pick of the hole with the antenna off? Round or oblong hole? @empty_lord

    Anyone else?

I love my stubby antenna (tee hee). It makes the truck look alot more updated. The last time I listened to the radio was to check the reception of the stubby antenna for someone here who asked. I don't remember the time before that, it was so long ago. Got to be 10+ years at least.

The base is what I’m talking about.

Kinda wishing I just had them patch the hole and just ran a universal antenna up in the headliner.

I have a plug and play controller I got from a truck going to auction. It’s one of those remote mount boxes with a small dial to hide it all.

Or there's always the in-between. I had this short wirey antenna on my ranger in high school
    1342742670814.jpg
Sorry, best pic I have. The antenna is about 1.5 foot to 2 foot tall and have a spiral or coil in the middle. Best of both worlds imho..it's short and it's wirey so it's pretty stealthy but not too short. I never had any issues picking up radio stations with it

shocks are some cheapo Tuff Country ones that were on there from the PO.

what do you meant second hitch? I put a new one on in place of the existing one that was rusty and seized.

The ball is interchangeable so you only need one ball mount instead of multiple with different size balls.

Yeah every hitch I've owned had the ability to remove the ball since like the 90s. So what? Put the pipe wrench to the big ass nut and twist lol
Hell down here they sell them and the balls separately on most

Ok so that thing is what's left when you remove the ball. I got it now. Thanks. I thought it was some kinda weird hitch configuration

Got my truck back. He got the message this time. Last time I had p.s. lines replaced, he left two rusty ones on the rack that were separate order from 'the p.s. line kit'. Those burst like 1 month later on my friends newly top-coated driveway. I was not happy!

So when rusty lump (beyond electrical connector) started leaking fuel:
    20191005_212303b.jpg

I made it clear I wanted to visit leaking fuel lines only 1X.
Some of the lines were rusted to brake lines, so I needed some brake lines too. :lalala:
Fine, but we're only visiting brake lines 1x too.

Got her back, lots of shiny new bits & lines.
next truck is coming from the south. :plane:
    20191026_113150b.jpg
LOL - I took it back the day I picked it up, puddle under this gas lump & brakes sucked. He triple checked everything, bled all the lines - nothing. He had the truck so long I'd forgotten how mediocre this Tundra's brakes are. the puddle seems to have been residuals dripping down. No leaks since it came back 2nd time.

Installed and wired up my new back up camera. Between that and the Bluetooth head unit that I have in there it’s just about the perfect truck as far as I can tell. Simple but it now has the only technology I really want. Once I put the 5100s and some good tires on it I think I’m done

On the stubby antenna subject, my antenna broke off, don’t use the radio anyways so I don’t care, but a fender plug would be nice if one did exist.

Decided to do a power steering "flush" because no matter how many times I did the turkey baster it came out dark. What a pain this was.

Removed the smaller diameter(return?) Line from the res and attached that to some clear tubing. Jacked up the front tires and turned the wheel back and forth to push out the old fluid. There has to be an easier way. I'll never do this again as it's impossible to do without making a giant mess.

Heck yeah. I love my touch screen and back up cam. The blue tooth and hands free calling is awesome. Plus on the rare occasion I gotta sleep in my truck I can watch a movie.
