i bought the Mini VCI J2534 Diagnostic Cable Scion TIS Techstream V13.00.022

its using a xhorse driver and everything works except the data list which is the whole reason I bought it. I'm running on win xp 32bit in a virtual machine. I've been messing with this all day long and I have about lost it at this point.

when I try to view data list tech stream just completely crashes and windows asks if i want to send an error msg.

Windows 10 isnt compatible with the drivers. It has to be 32 bit. I tried to make it work in windows 10 for 4 hours and couldn't get the drivers to work so I switch to xp and now drivers work and tech stream connects but it crashes when i try to view data lists

There's some info for you about your version of Techstream. If the link won't work here's one of replys:
"Yes, that's exactly what I have experienced. The version 13.00.022 does not work for these windows version (Win10 64, Win10 32, XP). The seller gave me a link to download version 12. It worked with "Data List", but failed when I tried to program the ECU (Tire Pressure Monitor ID update) using the "Utility" in that ECU sub menu. That's when I encountered the "Communication Error". I tried the version 10.30.029, it had the same error as version 12. From IS forum, some people connect 12V charger to the 12V battery and AC adapter to PC that resolves "Communication Error". I tried that and did not have any luck. According to Dennis, it needs firmware 2.0.4 on the MVCI adapter/cable.

Depending on what data/info you're interested in, just get a Carista for $20: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YVHGTBM/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_xQHTDb32T9RHD

You get a 30 day trial on the phone app to change whatever ECU settings you want, and then it works with aftermarket monitoring apps like Torque Pro and Car Scanner ELM OBD2.

I want to view Automatic transmission fluid temp so I can check it. I have an 06 with sealed Tranny. I figured out I could jump some obd 2 ports and make a light on the dash come on but I would still like to get tech stream working for future use.
