Looks like I might have the replacement today. Making a few paper gaskets right now while I wait for a confirmation call.

Why you want a 2nd gen Tundra when you already have a 2nd gen Sequoia?

Can you make a list for this job? Or do one of your threads? I may preempt this one in the near future.

Yeah I've been taking pics to make a helpful thread. I think guys without ABS might have it easier.

I think I may need to do the same. I've got the z32 kit up front (new rotors, pads, calipers) and new rears (cylinders, shoes, drums) and bled them multiple times. Even had toyota bleed and adjust em. I still have mushy brakes. So I'm thinking it's that thing.

Trying to figure out the bracket situation so I can add a double cab console to a reg cab. Appears the access cabs had a slightly different setup so the double cab brackets I have do not line up.

Thank, but I’m looking for picture of the brackets for the center console box. The center stack I’ve had apart more times than I can count! Lol

[IMG] [IMG] It sat inside all day because of the horrible rain. Installed my new 3rd brake light lens too.

I read somewhere that a majority of 00-02 Tundras came without ABS. My brother’s 02 does not, but my 00 does. I’d take the non-ABS and day of the week over my rats nest of brake lines.

Need to back that screw out .04" but don't see a way to do it. I have to hold the shaft behind that and use a wrench to turn it, but I have no tools that will grab that shaft and not interfere with the wrench. Fawk.

Installed a new receiver hitch and trailer wiring today. It was a challenge, but I got ‘er done. I chose the one I did because of the higher weight capacity, but I had to drill holes in my brand new frame. Bummer, but it seems good and strong. According to the sticker it’s rated for 12,000 pounds. Online I read 10,000.

I also purchased a new hitch. It’s a neat convertible ball dealio.

As far as it's going today. I'm out of town tomorrow so I'll bleed the brakes tomorrow, test drive, then do the drums next weekend.

I had read a few threads that said it's such a pain in the ass to contort yourself to get the 4 nuts off by the brake pedal and to get the clevis pin out and back in. Those were the easiest parts by far. Maybe those guys were too lazy to remove the plastic panel and the crotch cooling duct, once those were out the rest was a breeze.

I'll write this up once I'm really done. I got everything important back together, just need to bleed the system and put the ducting/panel back.

I finally got around to re-aiming my headlights after the LED install. Much better now and less likely to blind oncoming traffic. I also remembered I need to look into replacing the HVAC bulbs. Need to see if there's a Canadian source for the LED bulbs somewhere...

Well went to install the new antenna for the tundra.

They ordered me one for a 05 tacoma. Son of a bitch. And it chipped the paint on the fender under the ornament. Damnit!

I guess its eye of the beholder, but when I see a stubby antenna my mind beholds:

    1) Why make something shorter when it needs height to be more effective?

    2) Why put a short, fat, stubby piece of eye catching plastic where the original skinny tall wiry one is less visible?

I used Autozoned for just about all of mine. Used the Sylvanias incandescents in the climate controls (to save $). The incandescents are just as bright as LED when you remove the green rubbers.

LEDs (Sylvanias) were used in the instrument cluster, although in retrospect I’d I use the incandescent there as well. The removal of the green rubbers is key and will actually make an old working bulb seem brighter.

    1) most of us haven't listened to the radio since 1995.

    2) fair point. I actually think the stub looks better but being shorter there is less chance of it getting caught on something. My old one would get whipped on my neighbors tree that should have been trimmed 5 years ago.

Also, do you notice new vehicles no longer have the long antennas? The tech has improved to where you no longer need a 4' piece of metal.
