There's a semi secret facility near our lab and I see quasi camo'd test vehicles quite often. I'll keep my eyes out and maybe spot a test Tunny. I saw the new test Jeep Gladiator over a year ago...

I work for Toyota and I can say with almost 100% certainty that they will not be entering the US diesel market. They are doubling down on hybrids. I don’t know anything for certain, but I’d bet money you’ll be seeing a hybrid Tundra soon and it will be a game changer in the truck market.

I would consider a hybrid, if, 1) it doesn't cost 60k+, 2) if I can get a good amount for my current truck when Hybrids available. I don't tow much, haul much, just a weekend DIYer every so often and haul family around.

The hybrids they have rolled out recently on Corolla and the new RAV4 only change the price of the vehicle by about $1000-$2500 I wouldn’t expect any different on the Tundras if they do a hybrid. I am sure they’ll keep other engine options too for those that want to stay with a more conventional truck.

If they changed it from a 38 gallon tank to a 19 gallon tank I would make sure I got to know every Gas station personnel at each station when I towed my trailer. 19 gallon tank at at 10-11 mpg towing with Toyota reserve system I just do not want to think about it. lol

No thanks, just drop in a diesel engine and have a truck that tows better for people who want that option. Make a turbo diesel if you want to get fancy

I think you would still use more of the gas towing then you would benefit from the hybrid parts of the motor. I will probably say a about 14-15 mpgs for towing.

Diesel would be great but my educated guess is on what Toyota would probably do. Toyota tends not to like Diesels in the NA market.
