So, i am at the dealership and am taking advantage of free oil changes. This is my last time doing it, what a headache! I will go back to doing my own oil after using it twice.

But, i asked that i get the vehicle back in the same condition that i drop it off in. I had a couple small requests that they verify prior to getting the work done, one being my wheels come back with no scratches, another being that my skid plate has all 3 spacers reinstalled due to my diff drop.

The woman who checked me in said in a very snarky way, we do our best to get it back to you in the same condition!

    Well gee that's great.

So i snuck back and hollered at the guy doing my work. He was real pleasant, actually. Get real local Toyota dealer.

The heapin' pile of dealer horror/stupid/ridiculous stories for routine maintenance is SO HIGH that I'm amazed that we find ways to lob yet another one onto the top of it. But that we have done.

Congrats on taking back control of your prized steed.

It's really BS that Toyota forces you to prepay the first 2 years of maintenance on anew vehicle whether you use it or not.

    Nothing is free.

I don't like that either. I wish there would have been an opt-out option to get an equivalent vehicle price reduction if the owner would agree (and keep records) to DIY these regular maintenance items. I only had the dealer do the 5k tire rotation (I always do my own oil/filter changes) but I can get those for free at Big-O anyway.

No doubt. I forget what the price of the Toyota care was.
