First post. First Toyota. I have this big ass long bed Toyota and now I think I want to de-grampafy it a bit. If this was yours, what would you do first?

    Thanks!

Nice. I'd probably level it or lift it and add new wheels. Or, add step rails. Sky is the limit.

I was thinking about definitely leveling it. Is there anything I could do performance wise, maybe to increase MPG? Or am I stuck with 13/17. I guess I could Google it, but I like first hand information. Thanks!

I would lift it. Put some good tires on it 33" -34". Get tow mirrors and quality tool box. Other than that its a great looking truck. Congrats!

We have almost 3 ton trucks. Nothing can be done for mileage that will make up for the cost of the mod.

If we lowered the trucks and put smaller tires maybe the mpg would go up, maybe.

    Enjoy the badass truck

This thing sure drives nice too. Trying to get used to such a long bed, especially coming from a short bed Ford.

Good point. Thank you for the thoughts though. I am really not too concerned about the MPG, but was kinda curious. I'll enjoy it regardless of the MPG!

Tow mirrors so you have the lower part to watch your rear tire swing over the curb. I have both wheelbases and it's a HUGE difference between driving them in terms of how easy turns and parking are. Other than that, drive it! I purposely got the long bed so I wouldn't modify it too much, it'll never be an offroad rig. So then I got a regular bed length one too....

Great truck! I'm waiting for one that I ordered with the same cab/bed configuration. Some different wheels with bigger tires will go a long way to changing the look of the truck...

Are you finding it's tricky to park and maneuver in tight areas with the longer wheelbase and overall length?

It's actually not too bad. I haven't had to park in tight spaces yet....That will be interesting though. Maybe I'll just park way out in the parking lots and walk. hahaha

yeah it is, not sure... id lift it a few inches and throw some 35's on it to start, add some air bags in the rear for towing.

This truck will make 35s look small. Go straight to 37s! :D

If you're worried about the MPG, you're in the wrong truck. And then lifting and adding tires will make it worse.

You have a reliable workhorse that will do more then you want it too. Enjoy it.

Chop two feet off the back of it. Sike I’m just playing it’s funny the full size beds look so different now that most trucks are all short beds but that used to be the common thing. Nice truck!
