The far back rear window seal has failed. It folded into itself from rolling it up and down. Had someone manipulate it so it would line up, but it would not take the old shape after a week plus in serious heat.

It does not leak but it needs to be fixed before it starts to.

so... I can get a new one from Toyota for $188. I googled around and couldn’t find anything that looked like the right part or a feasible solution.

Any help with decent priced parts or other solutions would be greatly appreciated. Also looking for instructions on replacing it.

Yep, that's the one. It's the part the glass rolls up into. Toyota calls those the window runs.

    Perfect!

    Would you happen to know...

How difficult is it to replace and can you point me to layperson or other instructions?

second time for me. Can’t remember if it happens before on this Tundra or another. First time was warranty. Their best factory service plan would not cover it even though I noticed and brought it to their attention before factory warranty expiration. It wasn’t noted, which may have helped. I was under impression it was covered by extended plan. So I should have made sure. At the time they already had it for a couple weeks after a vendor of theirs did some minor damage, and the dealership fixed it well. I just wanted to get back on the road.

That I do not know. I've never replaced one of those before.

Thats a bummer. For such a niche item (not many other trucks have retractable rear windshields), there probably isn't an aftermarket solution. Only thing i could think of is pulling the entire run, warming it up and trying to flatten it out.

I watched the service people do it for my truck. You just pull the seal out and press the new one in.

I would think that's all you would have to do just looking at it, I just wasn't sure. Roll the window down and yank it out. :D

My 2019 with 4K miles on it was getting pinched as the window rolled up about halfway mark. You can see the crease mark in the photo after pulling it out of the frame. I was able to pull it out and slowly roll up window to reseat the weather stripping. It sat in the sun and seems to be holding its position.

The glass seems to have plenty of play in it as it moves into position going up. Wonder if that is the issue causing the pinch.

I called the local dealer to ask for a quote to install it. They ended up covering part and labor.
