Interested for my 2017 trd pro. Getting into the garage is a bit snug and considering power folding mirrors!

Any of you wiring gurus know how I can wire my existing puddle lights from a 16 platinum to come on with headlights on? Instead of just the 10 seconds after hitting unlock. I have aftermarket puddle lights installed that project "Toyota Tundra" Screenshot_20191008-165835_eBay.jpg on the ground and would like that on all the time the headlights are on. If I took the puddle light + from pin 6 and T tapped that into the running light + from pin 9, would that work? Thanks

Other than running a wire from the head light? BTW where did you get those?

Ya...being the existing wires are already there on the Platinum, Id assume I could just change the power source in the kick panels at the plug. Looking for the easiest method.

I have a 2016 SR5 TRD with BSM, Heat. I purchased a set of 2014 OEM Platinum mirrors with all the bells and whistles. When I plugged them up the adjustment works, the turn signal works, the heat works but I get the "Check Blind Spot Monitor, See Dealer" code on my dash. Also the BSM light does not light up on the mirror like it normal does when I turn the key on. Any Suggestions?? Thanks..

Do they fold do you want them to?

If you BSM was working before I’d assume you have to move the pin from the door slide to the correct pin on the mirror side. I will dig up a pic and show you what I had to do.

Yes I want them to fold. The BSM was working before. I plugged my original mirrors in and they work as usual.

OEM tow mirrors don’t come with BSM. It’s a safety issue - BSM doesn’t take into account the length of the trailer. So if Toyota had BSM-capable tow mirrors & someone is towing a trailer & wants to change lanes, their BSM lights will be off if another car is further back but still alongside the trailer (and not alongside the truck where the BSM sensors are). Some yahoo solely relying on the BSM lights to change lanes will get into an accident in this scenario. That’s my opinion, anyway, on why they don’t have tow mirrors with BSM.

That said, you can get crappy aftermarket A1 Auto brand tow mirrors - they come with BSM. I personally won’t get them given all the complaints about the mirrors vibrating at highway speeds. I plan on installing OEM tow mirrors & wiring up BSM myself using an LED in the sail panel (possibly somewhere else - not sure yet). Here’s a thread for that mod:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/bsm-and-oem-tow-mirror-mod.39092/

Just have to use common sense when towing & not rely solely on BSM when changing lanes - make sure a vehicle isn’t alongside the trailer.

I plan on purchasing one of these auto fold harnesses when it’s avail.

Did I miss the part where the new used mirrors are tow mirrors? He should be able to see the graphic lit or not on the mirror.

Ok have you read this write up? https://www.tundratalk.net/forums/t...4-sr5-platinum-power-fold-mirror-install.html

    And watched this video?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1H47F2KP3Q&t=3s

Besides the BSM you are going to have to run your wires for the power fold and get the switch for the button to fold and run those wires t0. The BSM is just moving a pin I have the pics at home and will post up when I get home. If you do not want to wait a trick to finding the pin is take a 9volt battery run two leads +/- put the negative on the shared ground for the puddle lights then hunt for the positive pin, you will know when you find it because the BSM will light up on the mirror. Once you know the two pins you need +/- for the BMS that is on the mirrors all you need to do is move the pins on the door side.

I will post up a pic when I get home or on my break today.

The BSM shares the ground with the puddle lights pin 5
    Pin 1: Heat +
    Pin 2: Heat –
    Pin 3: Signal – (Running Light -)
    Pin 4: Signal +
Pin 5: Puddle Lamp – (Already wired as common ground, needs rewire to make puddle lamps work)
    Pin 6: Puddle Lamp +
    Pin 7: Mirror Retract (+)
    Pin 8: Mirror Fold (–)
    Pin 9: Running Light +
    Pin 10: Mirror Vert (power)
    Pin 11: Mirror +
    Pin 12: Mirror Horiz (power)
    Pin 13: Auto-Dim –
    Pin 14: Auto-Dim +
    Pin 15-18: Memory Pins

15-18 one of those is going to be the positive for the BSM if I remember correctly I will try and get a pic on break.

So if you look at the bottom row in the center of this pic pin 5 is the white with black stripe. Pin 7 and 8 (green and blue) are the +/- for the mirrors to fold and open.
Now if you have wires in 9 and 18 like I did the beige (flesh) colored wire in 18 and the purple one in 9 like I did you just have to swap the locations I moved the purple from 9 to 18 and the flesh from 18 to 9. I figured this out by testing the pins on the mirror using a 9 volt battery connect the negative to the 5 pin then put the positive on 9 or 18 you should see the BSM light up on the mirror. Hope this helps good luck, it's a big project but once you get the wires figured out its straight forward. I was having the same problem as you, hooked it up everyting worked (except the power fold and I knew it wouldn't) but the BSM was giving me the same error but I had two problems one the pins (the problem you have) the other is my passenger mirror BSM was broke and I did not know...

BTW this is the drivers side...

I am waiting on the plug and play harness.
If that takes a bit, then next step is wiring.... I already have the pin connectors, switch etc.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I hope they have the models figured out because I do not think they are wired the same. Going from the 2016 mirrors I bought to replacing my OEM on the 2109 limited the BSM was wired differently.

Well my Vendor just made the PNP SR5 Wiring Harness for the Tundra. I’m pretty sure it will also work for the tundra but I haven’t looked at the wiring diagram yet because I just received it and I’m about to send it off to a buddy of mine to verify that it works on the SR5 3RD GEN TACOMA. Once I get the Green Light that it does, my vendor already has your wiring diagrams so I will have him check it out and make another harness for a SR5 3RD GEN TUNDRA. Then once I receive it, I will send it out to someone that would like to be my first customer and they can test it. Then we can go from there. In the Tacoma, unfortunately, we found out that Toyota did not add a Constant Power Source in the Drivers Door like they did every other model Tacoma. Therefore, I had to make the 12V Wire longer with a Fuse that was integrated into the end of the wire so that the Harness is still Plug-N-Play, but that the New Owners can just Plug the Fuse into our Open Constant location that is in our Fuse Panel under our Dash. Toyota did leave us one empty open spot in our fuse panel under our dash that is constant so I am having them use that for their 12V Source for their Power Folding Mirrors now. Anyhow, this is what the SR5 PNP Harness looks like for the Tacoma
