She’s not a pup anymore, still acts like one..

Rescue we got in 2006, mut and we love her.

 

I went to watch my first Mondio trial last week! I feel lucky to observe French Ring and Mondio training every Sunday.
I have hope for a little bite work in our future!

 

We have a Borador (border collie/lab mix)and a one year old GSP. Both are super smart and very high energy!

Last week, we recused a very young pup that someone tossed in the woods. He appears to be a pit mix. Great pup. Looking to find him a permanent family to live with.

Hi - If that's the Mali from your previous photo's that's one of the nicest ones I've seen!
They are the perfect breed for the ring sports (as you already know). Take your time with bringing up the bite drive and bite work. Work with ONLY an experienced helper NO exceptions! No new helpers with new or young dogs. Small progressions are what work the best and what you want. From what I have seen first hand the Mali's and Dutch Sheppard's are just incredibly fast strikers. Super dogs in the bite work.

Yes that's my pup, and thanks! We do work with an experienced trainer who is also a decoy. She is nowhere ready for bitework, so I observe the trainers training their dogs on Sundays it's been a great learning experience so far. I feel like I stepped into a whole new world that's totally amazing!

 

I was coloring with my daughter the other week and stuffed this away afterwards. Found it today and thought it was a bit crazy how close of a resemblance it is to our new Aussie. The half color ears, the big patch over the the left eye, grey on the snout, etc.



Happy to say he is fitting in well in the pack. He hasn’t tried to take dominance over our older Aussie. He’s got lots more energy than her, though. He’s stubborn like an Aussie whereas Dixie is more timid like a heeler. We’re very happy to have him around. He is very loving and so far he’s putting up well with our 2 year old daughter. She can be a handful for a dog sometimes. Pulling by the collar, trying to ride the dog like a horse, hugging and cuddling more than they would like, etc.. he either takes it or wanders off if he’s not having it.
I feel so lucky to have him in our life.

Here my right hand man Bear. Hes pretty much my shadow when I'm home. Rescued about 4 years ago and hands down the best dog Ive had (I say that about every dog). When I can pull it off he'll come on the road for work during the summer for a week or 2. As long as hes in the back of cab, he dont care about anything else.

And my wife's dog Monty...Rescued when he was 5 weeks and hasnt left her side.

He’s upset I haven’t bought my new Tundra yet and he has to ride in the old truck.

 

I'm starting to really consider getting me another doberman. We had to put ours down last yr. Here is a pic of the pup I may look at this week.

The wicked witch checking out the new cap on the TRD Pro. I'll be using a metal crate when she is riding back there. The cool thing with the crewmax is it will fit a XL plastic crate in with the 60% rear seat up. Love it for the room.

 

All I can say is...WOW! Gorgeous dog!

We look at the pup that I posted a few days ago. We ended up passing on it for now. My son is autistic and is only 5 so not sure how he would do with a puppy we may still look into a rescue. Great looking doberman btw !

 

@Mnorris1206 Thank you. My 16 yr old daughter also has autism. This dog and our last Doberman male (105 lbs) for what ever reason sense they have different personalities and have both treated her very, very gently (much different than Izzy treats me!). The last two nights I got up in the middle of the night and found them sleeping on the couch together. They are best buddies. That is probably the case with a so many of the dog breeds.

Here she is at one years old (3yrs now). We think she has pretty good confirmation.

 

Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope for wonderful things for you and your family sounds like Izzy is a wonderful companion for your daughter. Here is a pic of my Milo unfortunately he had to be put down last yr. he was 10 yrs old.

 

Thanks Man. Milo was definitely a beautiful boy. I can say I know how you feel, they are all so special. They are not with us long enough unfortunately.
