Why a truck like this doesn't come with them is beyond me.

I ordered the OEM Tundra ones but wasn't happy with the quality or coverage for $75cad, so I sent those back and ordered up some $10 skateboard grip tape in blue. While not a perfect match for Cavalry Blue, it compliments it well, at least I think.

One crinkle on the edge of the drivers side one, but that's ok...they are protectors and will get scuffed up anyways. And I'm the driver so can live with it, for now. If it drives me crazy, I'll order up some more and replace the drivers side and have some spares if the others start to fail.

I made them 23.5" long, 3" wide and rounded over the outside edge. Took about 2 min to clean area, 15 min to map them out and cut them and 5 min to install. We'll see how long they last in -40.

    Just thought I'd share.

Nice! Can't see paying $30 to $40 when you can DIY and save moola

I'd probably pay $30-40cad if they had good coverage and were decent quality.

Amazon wants $77+tax for the OEM ones and the dealer wants $110. No thanks.

It's fun making your own and killing a couple brewskies at the same time, eh!

    Neat idea!
They make a clear also but I bet that shows grime in a hurry. I’ve got a black on white thing going on anyway with my white truck.
    (best color evah!)

    That's awesome.

Glad to know they are holding up. In that case, I may take another shot at the one I messed up a little on.

It might have been your thread that inspired me. I saw it on a few Jeep and Tacoma threads and lost track of what inspired me. So, I owe you credit...thanks!
