I signed up to add to the discussion. I have been following along, and my dealer just called. Rumor is there's an issue with the backup camera. The dealer put my name on an identical truck coming in with a date, not affected by the delay for later this month.

    Just an FYI.

My tundra is now a little more official. October 19-23rd window. That's actually better than i was thinking it would be... Wooohooo! This is good. Patience has never been on my "top skills" list...

I'm guessing my time will be similar. I'm ready to return this Corolla loaner.

I just bought a 2020 corolla SE to daily dive and save miles on my Tundra. Its actually a very good commuter car.

No loaner for me but my deal is already done and my 19 Silverado High Country trade in was based on 40000 kms. I talked to my dealer after he texted me about the second delay now to Oct 19-23 and due to the delay I am now allowed to go upto 45000 kms for the same trade in price...I drive lots of kms for work that are paid per km so for me even though I really really want my new TRD PRO financially I am making money on this delay.

I’m sure it’s a very practical and reliable car. I just don’t see myself getting out of a tundra to get into a corolla. Lol. Especially if the tundra was a pro... in fact, if I was getting a pro I might sleep in it.

Yup, waiting on a Pro. Doubly irritating, but as long as my ownership doesn't go like this it'll be fine. I should have known not to buy something that hasn't arrived yet lol. I just didn't want to miss the allocation, I went to look at another one that sold in less than 24hrs.

So here is my update. My dealer found me another Platinum at a dealer in SC. They brought it up and outfitted it with everything that I had ordered months ago. I wasn't about to wait until they release mine, which still sits in the dirt field at the SE Toyota Distributor in Commerce, GA. I am happy and the dealer went above and beyond to get me what I wanted. I hope y'all get yours soon.

....now pushed back to Oct 30 - Nov 3

Truck was built in August and has been sitting at Vancouver BC distribution yard since mid September...my dealer has asked his Toyota Rep but he says he doesn’t even know what the issue is.

Have you asked the dealer what compensations you're going to get for the delay? I'd be talking to other dealers to see what they have in stock and I'd bring that paperwork to the dealer that can't seem to supply what he sold.

i'd say back out and get a 19, which is the same truck but cheaper.

So far, the best the dealer's been able to do is a truck that's also truckless.

an extra 3k in savings and 0% financing is worth having to turn the key.

I did not have this issue but certainly an issue ordering one. I placed a $500 deposit in May and ordered a truck with my specs. I was told to expect delivery in early July. Two weeks later I called and asked if I could add TRD exhaust and was told it was too far along in the build process. I kept calling back for updates but never got a definitive answer on delivery. Was never given a build number. Early July I pressed for more info and learned they did not order the truck. OK, why then did they tell me it was too late to add the exhaust if it was never ordered? I was beyond livid. I absolutely do not care for liars. They did tell me there was a truck exactly like I wanted in Orlando however the dealer would not do a dealer trade. No worries there, I wouldn't buy it from that local dealer anyways. Drove the 6 hours to Orlando and purchased my Tundra. Perhaps I was naive in the ordering process and wish I had joined and paid attention to this group before purchasing.

Damn that's a lousy experience. I have a 2020 on order right now that will be here in about a week. It seems like they don't take orders very often. The salesman I was working with said he'd been with them for 6+ years and this was his first time placing an order. They were pretty vague about when the truck would be ordered, whether or not I could get the options I wanted, and when it would be built. It took about a month before they had an allocation where they could order it, and when it was accepted by Toyota I finally got a spec sheet with a VIN which was a huge relief. About a month later I got a built date, and then a week or so after that I got a delivery ETA. Not so bad toward the end as the dealership provided me with updates every time I asked for them, but the initial ordering process was not confidence-inspiring at all. Especially compared to my previous experience ordering an Audi.

I had the same story however I was told they had the allocation, then in July I was told they were waiting for the allocation. Crazy. I'm glad yours is working out. I love my mine.

I have been given good compensation as my deal was done a while ago based on my 19 High Country having 40000 km on it then he bumped my km to 45000 at the delay before this and now up to 50000 km for this delay at the same original trade in value I had at 40000 km.
I put a lot of kms on per day at work all paid so I am basically gaining 10000 km of free paid kms...plus it’s really really muddy at work right now till it starts freezing during the day hopefully by the time I get new PRO.

Canada is a little different, I don’t get a VIN till truck arrives at dealer. I just have a order number with my name on it. My Dealer has shown me the screen on his computer a few times which also shows the status as built then on transport and where it is now with a expected delivery date...it has been showing at distribution yard in Vancouver now for about a month and delivery date keeps changing. My previous 3 Raptors I ordered and I could go on my wife’s Facebook and ask Ford Facebook page the status at anytime and even track the train car it was on.
Area Toyota Rep coming in tomorrow maybe Dealer can get a answer to the many delays.

Chances are the distribution centre is a status placeholder and it isn’t even there yet. Build orders usually take at least 90 days but that’s for non-pro models. I would guess you’d have to add the time between manufacturing runs of pro models to that as they build a lot fewer of them.

I ordered on July 17 as soon as ordering was open. Truck was built in August. Was supposed to be in first 10 PROs to arrive in Alberta...I guess it still could be as there are none here yet only in Ontario do they have any yet on lots.

Ya, July 17th seems a stretch... I'm hoping I don't see that kind of delay.

Speaking of which, my own delivery has been delayed from Oct 15th (which was an actual placeholder) to Oct 19-24 now to Nov3-5. That said, I only ordered mine Sept 2nd, not mid-July.

The dealer talked about "Quality Control" "Randomly selected" "engineering tests" "ensure proper spec"... yada yada yada. Anyone get the impression that these are bullshit excuses? I'm definitely feeling that they're bullshit excuses.

Either bullshit excuses because they don't know what's going on, or a smokescreen because they do.

A friend worked for a local GM dealership many years ago. When a police car came in with the Interceptor chip in the computer, they'd pull it and put it in one of the demonstrators. Then they'd go out at lunch and do a little street racing. That's why I'll never buy a new car with over 12 miles on it. I don't want one that's been raced, run flat out to see how fast it'll go, or taken to the family farm to pull up a couple of stumps.

Ya, my last vehicle was bought just for road trips with the family. Didn't want to spend too much so I bought a ruddy kia minivan. Ya, ya I know...

I took delivery, drove off without looking too closely at it (being a kia, I wasn't overly enthusiastic,) then after a few days of not driving much (maybe went 50kms or less) noticed the damn thing had over 500kms on it. Too late to prove to the dealership it wasn't me. So I sent a furious (but polite) message to kia who did... nada. First and last kia I will ever consider. I wouldn't recommend anything about it. The dealer has crap service hours, too.

Warranty or not, the sliding doors have been fixed 3 times and it's coming up on the end of the warranty period. The head unit is crap and unreliable (didn't expect much as far as sound but did expect it to work). So it goes.

If you are ever looking at a kia, don't. If you take leave of your senses and want a kia anyway, don't use airport kia in London Ontario. There's a reason my family only bought Toyotas and Hondas. I'll not be straying again.

My 2020 PRO came off of hold and my new delivery date is Oct 27-31

Hopefully the 5 th delivery date is the charm ‼️
